Re: EDIS - SAW and PIP swapped.

if PIP & SAW are reversed - you won't have any RPM showing up in MT.

Usually the Regulator comes after the fuel rail - assuming a fuel return.

Re: Engine runs out of fuel after starting, please help!

do you have a return line from the pressure regulator back to the tank ?? It should be one big loop from the tank to the filter, to the pump, to the injectors, to the regulator, back to the tank.
what you describe sounds like a single line system with air. Fuel should be constantly flowing when the ...

Re: Fuel pressure and tach problems

if your loosing pressure it can be one of three places 1) out the injectors (probably not too likely if it starts and run ok hot). 2) Back thru the pump if the check valve there is open (or there is no check valve) and, 3) Leaky pressure regulator. if you can cap the where the fuel comes into the ...

Re: Turbo Type-4

There are a couple of folks that have 36-1 wheels built for the type 4's that fit behind the axial fan. Really slick installs, so you might want to look at EDIS. Again look at STF for type 4 conversions. If you want to keep the existing dizzy - you can get RPM off of the trigger points and not ...

Re: Turbo Type-4

you might also check out the fuel injection forum over at shoptalkforums -- lots of good info putting MS on Type 3/4 motors, I've got a 1700 to rebuild (way down the road) - but a type 3 is first on the adjenda.

I went with the AEM UEGO - but most people here go with the innovate

Re: edis on ms. no crank

disconnect the PIP&SAW lines between the EDIS && MS -- if still no spark - the problem is with the EDIS - not the MS.

Re: converting a carbueratted engine into a mpfi one

it will be really hard to run a MS from this engine -- what are you going to do for 12V (it is a 4-stroke weed eater style motor). Putting a O2 monitor on it will require even more power.......

Re: EDIS-4 no tach signal.

most common problem if getting no rpm - is you setup MS to run off of a 36-1 wheel. -- which is wrong. Trigger tooth wheel should be zero - settings at bottom of page that Matt references.

Re: PLX Devices Wideband and Megatune discrepancy

look at the ini file -- you need to select AEM as the type -- even then depending on the version, some were off and needed to update the formula in MS- do a search on UEGO find the old postings.

don't know much about L-Jet -- but IIRC the older busses used D-Jet which definetly has a switch type TPS -- which is not compatiable with MS.

are you sparkplug wrires EDIS & plugs - or generic?? EDIS won't spark if the resistance of the plugs+wires is wrong.

Re: MS Rolls Royce Silver Spur

There are quite a few D-Jet systems out there in old VW Type 3's and 914's, as well as Mercedes. You can get a complete D-Jet system for the type 3 for under $150. The basic system is fairly straight forward and there are several web sites dedicated to the D-Jet. That said I purchased my MS just so ...

Re: Megasquirt logging only at first

hall effect sensors output more of a squarewave, processing the low level signals inside the sensor. The VR will have to send a relativly low level signal that needs amplifying and "cleaning up" ath the MS. -- So I would think that the Hall would be a more reliable signal.
