Re: Mixture enrichment after a cold start.

Either too much or more probably too little cranking pulsewidth.I use 11.8 at -4C and 10.6 at 7C which seems ok,fires in 1-2secs.I find the rover motor is very accepting of poor fuelling when running but is very easy to flood when starting. With these settings if it does not start in 3-4 secs I have ...

Re: Mixture enrichment after a cold start.

mv 3.5 rover v8 uses ms1extra with warmup at160% and ASE of 60% for 16secs at 0C and seems ok.Dont know if ms2 is much different hope to have been helpful,Steve.

Re: Electrical fan wiring

Google "relay wiring" and it will give you a generic diagram how relays are wired.\it is important that the 12v supply to the relay comes from the megasquirt power relay(eg fuel pump relay, main relay etc) as if it does not it can cause feedback which causes problems(i made this mistake and the ...

Re: o2 Sensor delay.

Using tuner studio I eneabled massive EA and at low/med/high rpm looked at the datalogs to see the AFR go rich and used the time from tps to afr to get an idea of the delay.Remember to reset AE if you do this.Might work could be rubbish but I used it ok.Steve

Re: duty cycle

The documentation suggests 85% as a "safe" limit as the injector behaviour is unpredictable after this.120% is showing how much fuel is required and not how much is added. When I first squirted my car I miscalculated the fuel requirements and had 100% duty at 80mph,after which it ran leaner and ...

Re: HELP! Hydrolocked engine question

Holding the throttle down lets in lots more air weakening the mixture suggesting you are possibly too rich.I had this problem when first squirting my car as I thought I knew what I was doing but didnt.I turned off the priming pulse as I found that you could put lots and lots of fuel in the motor ...

Re: Logarithmic TPS any experiences?

I had a similar problem with AE on my old car and turned to RPM based AE.This transformed AE events but as my car only revs to 5500 it may not help you.Steve..

Re: Problems with Cold Start

It could be too weak/too rich at the new colder temps. This could be too little wue/too much wue or, as I found out by trial and error , my car was too rich not due to too much fuel but too little air, which could be your problem as you say you need to open the throttle(I to use a bosch extra air ...

Re: injector wiring

Is it a Mini with siamese ports?how many injectors?I have a siamese port MGB1800 and the problems of injecting such engines are extensively documented.I run 4 injectors and 4 squirtd simultaneous and have tried every other combo and found this works best for me,but may not for others.Steve

Re: Which grounds to use for sensors ?

On my rover v8 there is a single wire sensor for the temp gauge at the front near the alternator and a 2wire coolant sensor for the original ecu on the opposite side(large brass nut next to thermotime switch which looks exactly the same but is not!)I used this and ran its earth to the msecu.Steve.
