UPDATE: This past weekend I was able to fit the 42lb/hr Lucas/Delphi units.

Changes I made to MegaTune: Required fuel was 10, now 7.5. Opening time was set at 1ms, I chose 1.1ms based on another users input on the forums. Also, I went with a 3 bar regulator as opposed to the 4 bar I was using with ...

thanks for the help in explaining the difference between calculated and actual values in MT. That's a great link. The hp figures for the engine do indicate i'm at the very limit (theoretical) of the exisitng red top 30lb/hr injectors. I have not messed a ton with tuning WOT VE numbers (I dug ...

feeding a turbo motor as opposed to an NA motor isn't that much different. The BSFC is higher for a turbo motor and will result in the user requiring more fuel to output equivalent hp to an NA motor.

I agree with your comment though. I am not seeing any operating issues with my injectors, only ...

o yeah and I'm running 15 psi boost and A/F reads 11.3-11.5:1 even high rpm conditions (6K max)

something tells me the duty cycle calculation is tricking my mind :o

NEW INJECTORS what's the cleanest way to adjust constants?

Running MS2 3.57 board 2.889 code

Engine: 2.0 T3 turbo 8 valve ABA VW about 200-220 crank hp

injectors: 30lb @ 4 bar pressure

I'm just about maxed out with these 30lbs units (even at 4 bar...) and seeing duty cycles in my logs approaching 102%.

Here are my questions:

OK, update on this.

After a bunch of testing some formulas, I've ended to simply try to find a nice linear curve by using 2 points and 'Generic WB Linear'. Here are the steps I used to get it done :

DB15 (choose a pin) lead a jumper to JS4 and good to go.

Now to play with megatune settings.

Gotcha. I won't bother modifying the .ini for now. Maybe if I get bored next winter I might experiment. It just doesn't seem worth it. Thanks for all your help.

Thanks for the help, I upgraded to the most recent embedded code and I can now enter the IAC PWM frequency!

Valve works, but 100% turns it off (no power applied) and 0% is full open (power applied)

Any reason for that?

Other than that works perfectly! I can adjust between 100% and 0% to tune the ...

That makes a lot of sense! I had already downloaded the installer program and had planned on trying to upgrade the code. I bought my MS-II over a year ago (it was used but never actually installed in a vehicle) and it already had the 2.6 code loaded up.

Well, I tried my theory above with step size but when I select PWM warmup that field goes gray (can't enter anything).

Here is a screen shot of what I see. I don't see any reference to frequency on here?

Do I have the wrong version of Megatune or something? Says 2.25 P3 when I open it ...

OK, I think I got it now. So, Frequency=1000/(time step size in milliseconds)

Any ideas on a bosch VW valve, i read 150Hz might work. default is 400 hz in MT which is why I had troubles at first. I put zero in there and everything went to crap.

Not sure why it gave you that -17XXXXXXXXXX number ...

Please see the attached .msq file.

I've tried entering numerous values in the PWM duty cycle table, but as you can see I get it to open (power applied) when I use 0. Off is 1. Nothing in between

Weird.......any thoughts?

I don't have a datalog i can attach.........soon to come though

Hi Lance,

You've been very helpful. I'm most likely going to use the DB15 connector for convenience sake, choose a pin, then lead that into JS4.

I will check with Boris about the Knock sense, but I don't remember reading about a pull up.

OK I need to be more straightforward with my question........

When I go to wire into the SMD 3.57 MS-II from knocksense, where do i connect to?

Use DB37 or DB15? Then does the input just connect to JS4 and i'm done?

please help, need to get knocksense in my car. The LED just won't be enough ...

Yes, I have PWM selected under the algorithm. I entered values for PWM% in the table which I thought were reasonable.

OK, will post an MSQ file when I get home tonight. As far as logging, what do you need? I had done a bunch of datalogging this weekend hopefully what you need is there.

ok, update. I can turn it either on or off, that's it. Nothing in between!


any ideas? It's like it's operating like a fast idle and not PWM. And in the duty cycle tables i can only enter 1 or 0, turning it either on or off.

Anyone had this problem? Btw installed the diode so i guess there is no ...

Ok, so using a Bosch Idle valve, pwm type.

+ Goes to ignition ACC (on when key is turned)
- Goes to MS-II F-Idle output

I am using the 3.57 SMD MS-II ver 2.6 which should not require any board mods to get the PWM idle valve to operate.
