Re: GM 4 wire stepper IAC (2 rows of 2)

This. Check for cintinuity between any two pins. If they're connected, you have a pair; otherwise it's the other pin next to it.

Re: Wire harness to sensors

The reason for the same output being doubled up on two DB37 pins is the output driver can supply more current than one pin can handle.
<ObPedantic>The drivers are ground-switching, SINKING the injector current. The power is supplied from the battery via the relays.

Sorry, but I've seen a few ...

Re: 1969 Jeepster with Buick 340

For something like injector ports, and depending on the heat involved, something like JB Weld may be an option.

Should be low with the throttle closed and high with it open.

Yes; jbperf makes a 4-channel P&H board , so the OP would need 2. No messing with resistors, no futzing with PWM current-limiting settings. "I just turn the key, and it goes!"

More info on the MS3 can be found here . Any questions, ask away over on the 'Extra forum. Come to the Dark Side ...

Re: Converting an '92 Audi 5cyl 2.3 to MS EFI

Comments from the peanut gallery - you don't NEED the MS3X expansion card, but it does make this sort of thing easier. You do need the MS3 processor card, with its up-to-12 injection channels.

Re: Ms2 pot adjustment

The H1 board jumper has nothing to do with the bootloader of the MS2 card. Suggested practice on the MSExtra site is to install a 0.1uF cap in that spot, for additional smoothing of the VBat input.

Re: Ford 289 surges and coughs

I'm not a Big Brain (tm), but everything I've read about tuning is in line with Kevin's comments - the ReqFuel term is a configuration value, NOT a tuning variable. Set it, forget it, then dial in your VE map using your WBO2 sensor.

Re: Default settings for LC1 wideband controller

THAT's what had me confused about the LC-1 - I thought they had one common ground, but it's two grounds wired to the same point. Call me crazy (so many do! ), but that seems to me to defeat the purpose of two ground wires.

My thought would be to wire it up in the tried and tested MS way ...

Re: Tps ground

The fellows over on the Extra forum have a pretty diagram that explains why certain grounding arrangements are bad; it has to do with the current flow through the main ground wires causing a voltage offset. By grounding the various sensors directly (and exclusively) to the MS, the trivial current ...

I see the confusion. I don't think the OP specified what he's using for a tach signal. If he's using points or coil -ve, then no, my suggestion won't work.

He's trying to power the MS with the engine off so he can do tuning / setting adjustments, but doesn't want his coil powered in case the dizzy comes to a stop with the points closed. Unless *I* missed the point ...

Re: KOEO Tuning with contact points

Wire the power to the coil through the Fuel Pump relay. That way, the coil is dead until the engine is cranking and the FP relay driver is triggered by the MS. You can now safely sit there all day with the key on / engine off with with the MS powered up but no power to the coil.

Re: Q23 transistor continuity question

Q23 is part of the VR signal conditioner circuit; Pin 3 (C) is connected to ground, while Pin 2 (B) is connected to the wiper of R56. Now, if R56 is completely wound out such that the wiper is effectively grounded, then yes - you will get a ridiculously low resistance between the collector and base ...

Re: PWM Current Limit has no effect

It is extremely difficult to do any tuning with a narrow band sensor. You'd be better off using the Mark 1 Butt Dyno.

The engine wants what the engine wants. The VE cells go up to 255, and sometimes that's what is needed. That said with "Incorporate AFR" and "Multiply MAP" turned on (or their B&G ...
