Re: Car won't start anymore... no RPM on stim

I had a high current short which blew d19. In the words of the great Matt Cramer:

"To check for a short in the Megasquirt PCB, power up the Megasquirt on a Stimulator and check the following points for voltage with a multimeter. Wait until the "overheat" issue surfaces to do this.

Re: GM IAC valve question

Thanks guys! What I might do is make a fitting that one of these will fit into remotely. Then run some hose to the TB.

Any pics of what/where they are mounted on an OEM car?

I am using a northstar TB which is similar to this one (from a vortec motor). The IAC is in the TB.

Re: Stupid question about MSD distributor.

Actually I'm thinking it would be the usual hall effect circuit (points with no coil connection). If the MSD's white wire is for points it should be a square wave input. The coil is controlled by the msd box.

Stupid question about MSD distributor.

I'm a little confused. I'm using MS2 v3 with an MSD distributor and 6a box. My MSD distributor is a ready to run, which uses a magnetic pickup, but does not use the typical purple and green VR wires to connect to the MSD box. It uses a single orange wire for the signal to go either to the negative ...
