Most hall sensor chips have an open-collector output. As Tadek suggested, solder a 1kΩ resistor from hall sensor's output pin to it's +12V source. This pull-up resistor will give you a visible signal at the output pin of the hall sensor.

I changed my mind - those things are waaaaaay better looking than stock Nissan units!!!

That setup looks pretty hyper! Is it a pair of Jenvey throttles, or another manufacturer's product?

what about a pair of 60mm Nissan throttles from a KA24E? Mercury Villager vans had them, Nissan Axxes vans had them, 240SX cars had them, some of the Nissan pickup trucks had them, Maybe the Altimas too...

My recommendation is to buy a Weller WTCPT Temperature Controlled Soldering Station. They are the Porsche 911 of industrial soldering irons...
