Re: Car released after A.D. 2000

I think part of the reason might be the ever increasing amount of integration between engine management systems and other onboard computer systems. For example, I'm quite certain sure I could get the engine on my 2007 VW to run on megasquirt but then most of the gauges on my dash wouldn't work, my ...

If you're somewhat proficient with Linux, it should be quite doable, see Raspberry Pi and MegaTunix, the same guy made THIS VIDEO.

I've not heard of anyone doing this but I can't think of any reason why it shouldn't be possible via Windows remote desktop or Linux VNC.

Re: Identifying Bosch O2 Sensor

Near as I can tell, it's a normal 3-wire narrow band sensor. Nothing at all special about it, except for the connectors it's just a generic 3 wire sensor, two wires for the heater, one for the signal, signal ground is through the shell and it has the typical 0-1V non-linear output range.

Re: MS1 on v2.2 knock-off from Turkey?

Personally, I'd stick with with genuine B&G hardware from a reputable distributor, that way you know what you're getting and you'll have the support you need if you run into trouble.

On a side note: I' pretty sure discussing non-B&G ecus violates the terms of use on these forums, we might get in ...

Re: Hidden EFI systems--make it look like a carb motor

How about something like this, it's 750 cfm with the option to bore it out to 1000cfm. Top that off with a big enough air clearer, it'd be hard to tell that there wasn't a carb under there.

Re: trigger wheel sensor

I'm sure you'll be able to find some European cars with a suitable sensor, if not a Ford then a VW or something else. Double check the manuals but I'm almost positive the MS v3.0 has the appropriate VR circuitry on board.

Re: trigger wheel sensor

I just talked to a friend of mine who's got about a thousand times more experience with VR sensors than I do and he says the Ford sensor should be fine with a 3mm thick trigger wheel.

Re: trigger wheel sensor

The stock trigger wheel that this sensor is normal used with is definitely thicker than the one you're using maybe 5 or 6mm but I think it'll probably work for you anyways. I'm pretty sure we've used this type of sensor with an Electromotive HPX ignition system, and the trigger wheel we use with ...

Re: flow rate for bosch 0-280-156-205? searched

I recently came across this list of Bosch injector data http://hem.bredband.net/thedagger/Bosch ... r_data.xls, I don't know who compiled it or how but it's pretty extensive and according to that (if I'm reading it correctly) your injectors flow 195cc/min at 300kPa (43.5psi) test pressure.

Re: exhaust design - basic issue

From Sanderson Headers: Smaller diameter pipes flow less volume than large ones, but the exhaust in the smaller pipe flows faster. Until you reach the RPM where the sheer volume of exhaust gases require bigger primaries, smaller tubes scavenge far more efficiently
What this means is, smaller pipes ...

Re: fast idle valve

I'm not familiar with the Ford type but as for the Bosch one, it sounds you might have one of the old style auxiliary air valves used in the CIS type injection systems. Those valves consist of a rotating disc which is activated by a bi-metallic strip. There's a heating coil wrapped around the bi ...
