RS Autosport is going 100% Neon/420A!!!

Post by Rodney Sparks »

Hello everyone!

Here at RS Autosport, we pride ourselves in the quality of our products, and the level of customer service we offer. Since we started selling MegaSquirt ECUs and harness kits in July of 2004, many new vendors have popped up, so there are many choices out there for your MegaSquirt hardware needs. We'd like to thank those who have had positive experiences with our quality parts and service, and have either returned for more products or recommended us to their friends.

In order to cope with ever-increasing sales numbers, we have decided to streamline our MegaSquirt ECU product offering. Due to the fact that we have very extensive experience with the Neon/420A engine, effective immediately, we will be exclusively offering MS1 v3 ECUs modified for use on the 420A engine. For the time being, we will be unable to offer custom ECU configurations other than this one, and will not be selling ECUs with the standard VR or hall input circuits or with tach output or fan control modifications.

Now for the good news: Beginning in a few weeks, our MegaSquirt 'n Spark Extra-equipped 420A ECUs will come standard with a built-in daughterboard that offers the following additional hardware features:

* Four 3A current-limited, flyback-protected, FET-driven, switched ground configurable outputs. Initial pin assignments:
- Boost control
- Shift light
- Fan control
- Tachometer signal (output is pulled up to 12V)

* Launch control (switched ground or switched hot logic... jumper selectable)
* Upgraded 3A FET-driven fast idle output for Bosch idle valve
* Dual ignition modules to run the stock Neon coil pack
* Connector pins configured for connection of a KnockSenseMS unit and our upcoming external EGT sending unit
* Table switching (shares pin with EGT input; jumper selectable)
* 3-Bar MAP sensors (with real-time baro correction) will be installed as standard equipment
* Pre-loaded with the map from our own Steve Peterson's SRT-4-turbocharged, 13-second, 2.0 DOHC '98 Neon R/T.

We know that Neon and 420A DSM owners will love our new MegaSquirt configuration. It packs a feature set that is currently not found on pre-built and tested MegaSquirt ECU's. The price is still being set, but we expect that you'll find it to be very competitive.

Of course, we're still providing our lifetime warranty support on all products, whether or not we currently sell them.

Thanks again for the business, and happy 'squirting!

No MS2's for now. However, this ECU will be able to switch between EDIS and 420A modes with a jumper on the daughterboard.

Thanks,
