how to know my current firmware code version?

how to know my current firmware code version?

i've build my MS2 V3 board long while back. now i planned to upgrade the code to 2.88 for new added features. how can i know which code do i have?
and what are the steps to take for me to upgrade from 2.x to 2.88?

In general, Flash the latest code, activate the correct ini file and off you go!

how about the msq file? i just need to reload it back into MS2 with 2.8 code and it will works?

You could try but I doubt it will be successful. There is a file called audit.log that lists all the errors that occur during the process, but I recon your safest bet would be simply to export your VE and timing tables and transfer the other settings manually.

It is best though to start on-line with the default config that exists in MS after you've loaded the new firmware and change that by importing your VE and timing tables and then setting everything else the same as what you had on your earlier fw msq. Of course there will be many new parameters you will have to set as well. IAT fuel correction is one of those important ones :D that may not have been present in earlier versions.

And :RTFM: , there are things that are not what one may presume (seperate vs combined tables comes to mind...)
