Ford SVO injector settings

Post by JnJSpdShop »

Vehicle:

Fox Body Mustang
331 Stroker, Edelbrock Performer Heads, Vortech A trim, SVO 42 lbs. injectors

Megasquirt-II, with EEC-IV convertor box

Trying to figure out what are the best setting for the SVO 42 lb injectors and what is the best required fuel number to use.

How many squirts? 2, 4, or 8

Should I be alternating or simultaneous?

Also any idea on where to find a starting VE table and spark advance table?

Start with 4 squirts/alternating. 42lb injectors could have some idling issues on a 331 cu-in engine from a too-short pulsewidth. Megatune should be able to generate a base VE table for you that'll at least get the car to start. For spark, you'll probably have to make your own. Mimic the settings that carb'd car of similar build would have -- ie, how many degrees initial? How much mechanical advance, and all-in by what RPM?
