The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.

If your question is about troubleshooting, configuration, or tuning, you MUST include your processor type (MS-I or MS-II) and code version in your post. If your question is about PCB assembly or modifications, you must also include the main board version number (1.01, 2.2 or 3.0). For tuning/troubleshooting questions, please attached a datalog and your MSQ file to your post.
i have finally got my car up and running . im using the MS 1 V3 for my 2.1 pinto that is running R1 TB's, a FR32 cam its also ported and polished. now that its running i need some help with tuning. i only have a standard VE table running at the moment and need one that is more suited for the job, im not a MS expect (far from it) so dont really no where to start with regards to tuning. my spark advance says that its sparking about 19 degress btdc A:F ratio is at about 12:1.this is all at about 1000 rpm. i've balanced the TB's to the best of my ability with my carbtune pro 4.
Is anyone on here running a pinto with R1 TB's that couls advise me on what VE table to use or could e-mail one to me so i could put it on my MS to get some more reliable results. or if anyone could give me some more advise on where to start with tuning my car. i am running a innovate LC-1 lambda kit with digital gauge if that helps
It really isn't that hard to tune your own VE table if you're already running and have the LC-1. Just drive it and use MegaLogViewer to analyze the logs after a drive, OR tune it live manually. You'll never get good results with someone else's VE table.
Congrats on getting MS running Alex.
The VE table is more engine specific than TB specific, so I'm not sue that any other VE table is going to help your tuning efforts. When I first began tuning my VE tables, I just revved the engine to the next RPM bin and changed the VE number until I got the desired AFR and then proceeded to the next RPM bin and did the same. I did this until I had covered all the bins I could tune without driving. Using these numbers I smoothed out the VE table a little. Next, I went for a drive, staying below 3k RPM and datalogging as I went. I didn't have much luck with Autotune, so I ran my datalog through Megalog Viewer, and let it work it's magic on my VE table, (based on the WB02 readings and the AFR table). I then uploaded this latest VE table and smoothed the table out again. I repeated this process several times, each time altering the driving conditions so I could get a more complete datalog, until I was satisfied with the VE table I had.
This response is completely ignoring my issues with idle, WUE, ASE, Accel, and just tinkering with things in general, which I've done a lot of. I'm still chasing issues with Accel and VE under boost, but the rest of my VE table is working well enough for now. Just follow the manual as closely as possible for your first tuning session and you'll get the hang of it from there.
