MS-2 with Knock Sensor

Post by Shayne_GSX »

I have a 93' Eclipse GSX thats getting MS-2 pcb v3. I want to use my stock knock sensor with MS. Do I have to build another circuit? Alternatively, what input does it utilize?

Thanks,
Shayne

Isn't the knock-sense just an on/off switch, meaning its either full knock or no knock? I googled it, but I can't find anywhere that hardly talks about it other than a miata forum.

I googled knock sense ms. this is the first hit.

http://www.viatrack.ca/

go down to the megasquirt specific one, order that. Its essentially a small amp with a bandpass filter tuned to your knock frequency, which outputs a pulse when knock is detected. The pulse is fed to MS, which can be setup to retard timing on knock events.

Alternatively, I found this http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/knock.htm. Which would seem to work better for my application if not overall :). Thanks for the help.
