Datalog engine values remain after engine stopped

Post by Bob Bermani »

Hi,
I'm trying to Megasquirt a small block chevy with a custom LT1 intake manifold installed and GM HEI distributor with 8-pin module. I have a Megasquirt II with 2.88+ code.

I've currently got the motor able to properly run through cranking mode into ASE up to 1200 RPM for a few seconds and stall. I believe I need to make adjustments to my ASE settings. However, my question is, I've noticed on the data logs that my pulsewidths for PW and PW2 do not return to zero after the motor has stopped running, nor does my spark advance numbers. It seems that after the motor has stopped running, the values remain at what they were while the engine was running until I restart megasquirt. I can see this in the data logs as well as on the Mega Tune gauge display. Viewing the datalog, it's as if all pulse widths are based off the previous number the engine was at before it stalled. This also happens for the spark advance. For example, if the engine stalled with spark advance at 15.4 degress, the datalog will show that next time I crank the engine, the spark advance begins at 15.4 degrees..

I've also noticed that my warmup enrichment LED remains on even after the engine is not running. Although WUE is shown as off in the MegaTune display. It's very peculiar and I've searched through trouble shooting sections as well as the forum to no avail. Has anyone experienced this? I think my next step is to try updating to the latest firmware rev.

Main board version number 3.0, by the way.

This behavior is pretty normal and not anything to worry about. It simply shows the pulse width as what it would be if the injectors were firing.
