HELP PLEASE - Toyota 4E-FTE Starlet Distributor Wiring

Post by danv »

Hello,

Having some problems with my Megasquirt II w/v3.57 SMD board running 2.88 code.

I have the Toyota 4E-FTE 1.3L 4 cylinder engine, with the 4E-FE distributor attached (as it has a inbuilt coil and ignitor inside, to simplify things) I am not getting any ignition signal to the MSII.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or provide info on how to wire up this distributor?

I can find the coil supply +12V wire, the tach ouput wire from ignitor, the wire connected to the F terminal on the ignitor, the wire connected to the T terminal on the ignitor, and the two wires that go to the 4-toothed wheel pickups (two pickups set 90 degrees apart and wired in series inside the distributor, providing two wires output). The negative side of the coil is connected to the ignitor ouput internally within the distributor.

Currently I have pin 36 from MSII wired to the T wire on the ignitor (what I beleive to be the ignitor trigger wire, the two wires from the 4-tooth wheel pickups to the vr input on the MSII and the +12V supply wired to the main relay +12V.

Anyone?

Kind Regards,

DanV

nevermind the above..........

I simply adjusted POT56 (the VRAdjust POT) and I am now getting an ignition signal to the MSII when cranking. (stupid me for not thinking of it the first time i know....)

I now have a flat battery though...... :D

I will check to see if I have wired the Stock'o toyota ignitor inbuilt into the distributor tomorrow when I will have a charged battery.
