edis sensor polarity ?

edis sensor polarity ?

working on a new edis install. the sensor has a blue and grey wire yet nothing i found in the megamanual shows which is pos. or neg. however the drawing for the edis module shows a pos and neg for the sensor. which one is which?

Let me know what car the sensor came off and I can look up its wiring diagram.

matt, its the regular escort edis sensor. however i did find a 96 model 6cyl taurus(non edis) that had what looked like almost the same sensor but was easier to get to than an escort one. i grabbed it just for comparison. it plugs in the same however the plug is rotated 180*. the most noticeable difference is the size of the magnetic area. the escort 36-1 wheel has wide teeth about 1/4" or 5/16" and its sensor has a diameter of about 1/2".
the taurus 36-1 wheel is thinner about 3/16" but has a larger sensor diameter of about 5/8'.
the only reason i can think of would be increase the magnetic strength of the senso in order to let it read the smaller mass of the teeth with a thinner wheel. which makes me think the stronger sensor with the larder diameter might be desireable to read the trigger wheel from DIY. any thoughts.

Gray goes to pin 5, blue to pin 6.
