not to hijack your thread, but on a similar note, is there another fet driver that I can substitute for the IXDI404PI FET driver or the MC34151PG??

the electronics stores here in montreal are a lot on the stupid side, having nothing in stock and expecting me to order chips in the hundreds from the same site I can order it from (digikey) and pay them more.

My impression is the IXDI404PI is obsolete. I need them to repair V2.2 board. Have about 5 left.

Any recommended sub?

The MC34151PG will fail from time to time, sometimes damaging the pcb severely

Unfortunately, it's the best substitute we've found so far - nobody else seems to make a 40 volt version of this driver.

On V3.0s, you can protect it by changing D21 to a 16 to 18 volt zener.
