Post by Nybakk »

Hi there, i'm looking for some info on how and what i would need to know and do to get this (b6304) engine working with MS-II V3,57. Anyone in here made an installation on this engine before?

this is the 6 cylinder engine from Volvo 960.

Best way to trigger it?
Bes coils to use?
What more to think about?

This projekt is going to take some time. So i am trying to get prepared :)

Putting this thread in to life again...

Okay, trying to get some info on how to get my B6304S2 motor running with Coil On Plugs (preferd) or wasted spark!?
never tried this before... only got my 4 cyl redblock running with a single coil and distributor with hall-sensor.

i'm using MS2 V3,57 with latest ms2extra 3.1.1 and just started using tunerstudio cause it looked more user friendly :)

My standard COP's on the engine has 2 wires going to each... which means no ign-modules built in, so i would need vb921's for those, correct ??
Or if i could get COP's that has 4 wires to them, which means built in ign-modules but that also means i have to run on "fixed" dwells :(

any one in here have some more good stuff on how to get all this to work? need my car this summer :D
please correct me if something i just wrote is wrong

Generally, the easiest ignition setup to use is EDIS. Available in 4 6 and 8 cylinder versions. Secondhand fine as it is so reliable. Easy interface to MS. Plenty of trigger wheels avaialble from a variety of sources.

If i do EDIS - can i still use the standard crankwheel 60-2 with the hall sensor?
another option is the wasted spark coil pack... i have this one i can buy here in sweden http://shop.klracing.se/sv/artiklar/mot ... spark.html but i dont know how to connect this one.

No - EDIS is 36-1. And a VR sensor. It's all or nothing with EDIS as it's totally self contained. Just sends a tach signal to MS and receives a control signal back to set the advance.

There are lots of options than MS can do, though. Just a question of you working out the best for your application.

I'm going for the BIP373's... so what is the best way to get those to work with my Ms2 V3,57 box?
Can i give the BIP373's an own box? i don't feel like soldering directly on to the MS.
and then make that BIP373 box work with the MS, wiring to the MS harness!? possible or not?
