i use a old 4-pin hei module to control timing. My mg v3.57 came with dual BIP373 one installed in q16.. i removed one and use the other one to control the coil on top of the hei. what i did was got the (c) wire from the mode to tach and ran the S5(relay) -pin 36 to the negative side of the coil to make it spark. also put a 1k resistor on 12v and the tach signal that goes to pin 36.
