VE at 100%

For discussing Phil Tobin's TunerStudio MS is the MegaSquirt edition of TunerStudio, a next generation tuning application. It provides the ability to configure and tune all MegaSquirt controllers and is 100% compatible with MegaTune ini files and msq's.

VE at 100%

Post by KC7EYZ »

MS V2.2,.S19, after some autone runs at speeds up to 50 mph, I get a cell with 100%. Should I increase req fuel before doing faster runs with higher RPM and kPa or expect VE values above 100%?
NA XJ-S, V12 runs great and seems to me it could be a bit rich, but NB O2 values look OK.
MSQ and MSL files would not both load so I combined them
Thanks

Yes, Increasing your ReqFuel number will allow you to decrease your VE numbers.

I have no idea what to do with the file you posted..... :?

It would work a lot better if you posted the actual msq & mlv files!

Bear in mind, your VE value can go up to 255.

thanks and sorry about files, for some reason I could not load both, so they are now both compressed. The VE table in the .txt file, is easy to read with Notepad or text editor if you don't care to unzip the file that is attached to this post.
If you do get a chance to look at them, my question is: why not let VE analyze assign cell values above 100%?
then when I do a higher RPM/load tune run, if cell values are high or only slightly above 100, I can decide to adjust Req fuel a little or a lot.
thanks again for any help

As I noted, your VE values can go up to 255. If in the process of tuning you wind up with cells over 100 - just let them be, unless you have a very good reason to change your req_fuel.
