Tuner Studio Warm up indicator

For discussing Phil Tobin's TunerStudio MS is the MegaSquirt edition of TunerStudio, a next generation tuning application. It provides the ability to configure and tune all MegaSquirt controllers and is 100% compatible with MegaTune ini files and msq's.

Tuner Studio Warm up indicator

Post by 142 guy »

Just recently, I noticed that after starting my car and letting it warm up, the indicator on the Tuner Studio dash indicating warm up enrichment would go off when the coolant temperature had exceeded the high value in the warm up enrichment table. However, after a couple of minutes, the indicator in Tuner Studio indicating warm up enrichment was comming back on. Checking the warm up wizard shows that the engine is well above the warm up temperature zone. Any suggestions as to what might be going on?

This is a new problem that has just emerged. Previously, the dash indicator would go off when the temperature exceeded the last value in the table and stayed off.

A data log of this happening might be helpful.

I was thinking about doing that; but, not clear which variables I should log. Should it be the Gwarm variable? I am not sure what the Gwarm variable is.

As a note, it is not apparent that any thing is happening in the controller / engine when the warm up flag on the dashboard turns back on. As far as I can tell the fuel pulse widths at idle are pretty much the same before and after the flag turns itself back on.

Gwarm is the percent additional enrichment for warmup.

Just capture a normal full data log. MegaLogViewer w I ll show the warmup flag the same as TS. Then we can see everything that is going on.

I never noticed the flags in Mega Log Viewer. I guess I was too occupied with the other stuff.

It may be academic now. The flag was re appearing consistently until yesterday. Since then it has gone out when the engine comes up to temperature and stayed off. I do have a bunch of logs that I collected when this problem was happening. Now that I know the flag shows up in the viewer, I may go back and see if I have an old log where the flag is off and then turns back on. Unfortunately, since I was using the log to check the tune rather than look for this flag problem, I usually have the engine up to full temp before starting the log and the flag would usually be back on by then.
