how hall-sensor work?

I just making a new topic. I have a problem with my hallsensor. I shall run with MS-II v3.0. But I have not yet got rpm signal.
when it is wired like original to ignition module, it give 12v pulses. But when I hook off the wire who goes to ignition module, then I got no pulses. The hallsensor still has ground and 12v into it.
Why does this happen?

The ignition module has an internal pull-up to 12V, whereas your MS-II on v3 board probably has not, unless you have installed one. So, have you installed a pull-up resistor für die Hall signal input?
If not, install one (1K resistor between 12V and Hall input) and give it another try!
Are you running your v3 board with the high current driver circuit installed or are you trying to run your ignition module from the processor output pin?
Cheers,
Tadek

I'm trying to run ignition module from ms output(pin36), the problem is that I can't get signal out from hall. I have pull-up to ms.
hall-sensor has tre connections: +, 0, - . It has +12v, ground. But signal out come only when ignition module is conected. I tought it should give puls anyway as long it has + and ground.?

Most hall sensor chips have an open-collector output. As Tadek suggested, solder a 1kΩ resistor from hall sensor's output pin to it's +12V source. This pull-up resistor will give you a visible signal at the output pin of the hall sensor.

okey, I will try that.

I did that, no difference. But I begin think about ground...what pins should be connected? (cable between MS and relayboard)
all pins 20 to 37 is connected (db37 to db37)
2,7,8,9,17, 18,19 are connected.
but not 1,3,4,5,6,10,11,12,13,14,15,16

hallsensor is ok. with the pullup, but not ecu there is 12v from it when is not in hole, and 0v when it come to hole.
But on the tach on relayboard there is only 3-4v with pullup. less without pullup. Why...?
