Hi everyone,

Does anybody know where I can get the TPS connector for Suzuki GSXR throttle bodies? Is this a dealer item, or does it need to be sourced from a bike junk yard or ebay, etc?

im not sure if it will need to be sourced from the junk yard or ebay. i have some 06 gsr itbs and the dealer can only get that plug by getting a whole harness thats like 1500 bucks. i do beleive they told me the 2000 and older bikes you could get just the pigtail. not sure . have u checked with your local dealer?

Take a look at K&L Motorcycle Supply, I order Japanese's motorcycle connector from them. Most motorcycle shops should have a K&L catalog.

Thanks, those are great looking connectors. I think I prefer the look of those over the standard GM Weather-Pack connectors.

I'm going to go hunt through the junk yard this weekend to see if any autos use a similar TPS connector. I'm also going to try to contact cycle salvage yeards, etc. I may need to resort to rolling my own though so thanks for the info.

Hi, sorry for the delay... I did find the connectors, but I don't remember what car I found them on. I think it was a Kia or some such small Korean vehicle. I just kept walking around the salvage yard until I found the correct connector. Best of luck!

I notice you are using GXSR ITB.
I'm going down that some path and was wondering how you are going to control idle?
Are you using a Fast Idle / PWM Valve ?
I'm trying to get my head around how this would work on the Susuki throttle bodies and which one I should use

The GSXR throttle bodies I'm using have a simple set screw to control idle. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Robert,

My GSXR throttle bodies also have a simple set screw to control idle, but what I'm referring to is Cold Idle control.
ie. raising revs when the engine is cold based on the CLT.

I know a fellow who also has used the same throttle bodies and he used a Ford idle solenoid for Cold Idle control.

I've searched a number of wrecking yards but can't seem to find one and I'm wondering how other people may have addressed this. and whihch cars have one etc ...

One option is to use a Stepper motor as these are more easily available, but the Megasquirt would need to be built for it.
Otherwise a simple Idle control solenoid would be simpler in my mind.

Sorry for the confusion... This is a great question. I went down the same road you're on now and eventually decided a simple choke cable would be best for me. My solution works extremely well, but didn't really further my megasquirt knowledge. Before going the manual router, I was leaning towards a stepper motor so I could do some fine tuning of the cold idle speed, but after getting my manual cable up and running, I think a simple on/off solenoid would be a better choice. The way the GSXR fast idle thing works, it would be really hard to fine tune anything other than a simple on/off switch. You don't get a whole lot of granular control with the way it works. Unfortunately, I don't have a particular solenoid in mind though.
