Tool to Test IAC Motor

I'm having a heck of a time figuring out what my Start Value and Cranking Position should be. Changing the values and re-booting the MS doesn't seem to be the best way, because it never closes back to where it would be with the engine running and warm.
Would it be possible to write a tool to send a signal to the MS to manually move the IAC. So you could say "Close 50 steps" and it would react immediately? It seems like this would be an extremely useful tool to debug new IAC setups and it would reduce the testing time to almost nothing.
Thanks.

I've often thought this sort of 'debug' test method for the IAC would be invaluable. Maybe it might be worth while asking Al if it's possible to include in any next code release IF there's any room left in memory.

You could take advantage of a variable that is already in the code. It is called IdleAdj and is in in2ram. Change your Megatune ini to put this variable in a dialog box. Change that value and it will change your idle step. I've done this while debugging my dad's IAC.

Hi Nismoryco, would you mind expounding on what you mean by creating a dialog box in Megatune? I'm not really sure how to do that. I went through the Megatune ini, and did see all the existing dialog boxes, but I have no idea how to create a new one. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I made a modified .ini file for the latest 2.885 code. If you aren't using this code, you can at least see the changes to take advantage of this variable.

Thanks nismoryco! I'll give that ini file a try.

That's fantastic. I think I got it dialed in with a lot of trail/error, but this will still be invaluable. Thank you.
Hoping to start my engine tomorrow morning <Pray>.
