GM Rochester TBI inlet fittings - what type?

I need some advice to plumb into a GM-Rochester TBI unit from a mid-90s V8. I have 2 at the house I’d like to use, and it will be on a 350 hp Plymouth 440, so I need a dual-TBI system.

There are 2 fittings that come in at the rear of the unit, one is 14mmx1.5 and other is 16mmx1.5 (supply and return). They take an O-ring fitting at the tip of the fitting. I found 2 aftermarket ones that will work, but they go to AN-series stuff and I'd prefer SAE. Here's one of the AN types:

Ideally I’d like to use SAE brake line for my fuel lines and not the factory stuff that would need cobbled together. I’ll be running 2 of these units on my engine so I’ll need a fuel log (or at least some Ts) and don’t want the plumbing to get messier than it probably already will be!

So I guess I'm looking for a male metric O-ring to 5/16 SAE female flare adapter. Anybody know of one?

I was lucky enough to find a GM TB that had SAE fittings already in it, they are pipe thread into tje TB, wish I could tell you what they came off. I think they came from an old S10. I just swapped the pod out the the 454 TB I am using. Joe

I think I'm gonna hit the local junkyard and see if I can find some better TBs to use, also I can get the fittings and some fuel line with them. 1 of mine is missing an injector and I have no connectors for the sensors, no harness for the injectors. I'd be better off getting something complete that looks like it was recently used.

My local Autozone had the correct ends.
Approx 12" of steel line with the o ring. I then used compression fittings and stuff to get to a 3/8 barbed fitting to high pressure hose.

Then back to large brake lines all the way back to the tank where I used the tranny cooler adapters to get back to rubber line.

I also put a fuel pressure gauge on there also, right behind the tbi
Also remember, TBIs only run about 15 psi so shouldn't be to much of a problem.

Dual TBIs! That sounds like fun!
Best of luck

Went to the local JY and scored 4 TBs and some sets of lines also. Some years of GM pickup have 2 stainless braided hose down to the framerail, but I only found one set of them. Would like to get another set of them, but need to inspect the framerail fittings to see what they are. Right now the plan is to T the inlet fittings together, T the outlets together, and do this on the intake manifold - then 2 hoses to the main fuel lines.

Trying to do it cheap while still doing it right!

OK. Sorry it took so long. But the parts you want are Dorman 800-151 (5/16 return) and 800-153 (3/8 fuel inlet). Autozone had mine. I think they were about $12 US.

Thanks for the info, I’ll file it away for future reference.

I got another set of the braided hoses and took them to a local hydraulic hose supplier -- he cut them to the length I needed and he put -6 fittings on the end for about $40.

So now the original GM TBI fittings connect to the dual TBs, then they T-together at a bracket at the passengerside rear valve cover. I can then jump to the framerail fittings with a -6 hose.

I was glad to discover this guy – he immediately recognized that fitting and could make me any type of new hose for it. Will make things simpler in the future if I use any more GM TBIs.
