which oil/fuel pressure sensor can I use?

Post by 88tbird2.3t »

So i've read a bunch of threads about people using a GM Oil Pressure sensor 0-5volts linear output for realtime and logging Fuel Pressure, so i've searched and searched and could not find any information on a possible part number for a GM sensor so I could look it up and order something. Oh and the search feature on this board really is not too efficient, spent hours trying different search parameters with no success.

Some of the links that were leading somewhere were:
viewtopic.php?f=100&t=28260&p=185471&hilit=fuel+pressure+logging#p185471

and

viewtopic.php?f=101&t=27325&p=179005&hilit=fuel+pressure+logging#p179005
which hobieboy makes mention of a MPS-300 Pressure sensor, and a link where he was going to get it from, but its a dead link that does not find any results for the mentioned MPS-300 sensor. Tried doing my own search on
http://www.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch ... 76&Site=CA
but no matter what i try to search for, i get no results on what i'm looking for

any help would be appreciated

Could you use a sending unit for any oil pressure gauge, The oil pressure gauge I have goes from 0-100 psi. Would you be able to set megasquirt to work with that.

I think its possible :) and that would be perfect because I really need to find a 0-100 psi sending unit, do you have any idea if its 0-5v linear?
what oil psi gauge are you using, what year make & model is it from & any chance you could get me a part number off of it?

Thanks

I just picked up a cheap oil pressure gauge from autozone. I'm not sure if it is 0-5v linear, I'm sure it is since it's a basic gauge.

I am new to the MegaSquirt unit. So could you please help me on your oil/fuel pressure sensor hookup? What pins are you hooking your sensor too? I am using the Autometer 2246 unit. Thanks for your help.
