I am unclear on the placement for a VR sensor with a 36-1 EDIS wheel. Can I just adjust the trigger pick up in MSTune? The problem with how I have to place my sensor is on a SBC the water pump gets in the way so I wasn't able to do the 5 teeth before TDC or w/e it is in the manual. How would I adjust this so that MSII can read the proper timing so I can finally start this thing.

My specs are 327 SBC, with a 6-71 blower, Ford EDIS-8 and MSII 3.57 board with 2.688 code.

You could move the wheel instead of the sensor.

How exactly do I know where to set the wheel. My timing isn't close to the mark at all when I check it with my timing light. I'm confused.

I set the wheel and managed to get the neccesary 14.8* timing . It almost fires when it cranks now, but I guess it might be a long road before ideling?

That's definite progress. If the timing looks OK, it's probably time to adjust the fuel.

Thannks again Matt for the responses. I can't see in the manual how to adjust the timing that MS reads from the wheel, everytime I want adjust my intial timing I will have to move the wheel? Because I was thinking intial timing of 14* might be to high it should be closer to 6-10*. I got it to almost fire it will start to run for like 2 seconds and then die off, I'm guessing thats my afterstart enrichment.

If your VR sensor is a little bit off you can fix it with the trigger wisard. The only way of knowing this is to pull the spout connector out and make shure that your timing is 10 degrees BTDC, if it is not then you can adjust the trigger wisard till it is.

Yeah I tried to dial in the time with trigger wizard but nothing really seemed to change. So I guess I will check and see if the base timing for the EDIS is really 10*. How else can I adjust the timing with out moving the wheel?

EDIS's base timing (that is, with the SAW disconnected) is not adjustable, but the Megasquirt's own version of the base timing may be adjusted with the Trigger Angle setting.
