Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid

Post by bronx »

I want my MS to control the evap system for my truck. I was looking at the different types of OEM purge solenoids and they look to be a little more complicated than a simple on/off operation (either PWM or stepper). I was thinking of just buying something like a Nitrous Purge Valve and having it controlled by a spare output. I was thinking I can enable it at >160 temp and VE < 50kpa or something.

Will this work?
Is there a GM OEM solenoid that would work instead of using a NOS solenoid?

hi what we used an my hilux was the oem valve which was a on/off valve and used one of the spare outputs
used the coolant and throttle position as requirements. i think it was 70 celsius and i use very small throttle openings around town 10 - 12% cruising so set it at 12%. try and have a scout around a wrecker for maybe a late model hilux or camry or corolla maybe even a 1990's cressida. pretty failsafe sort of a part to buy so should be cheap.
