Trigger wheel setup

I found that there were clearance problems mounting the wheel in front of the crank pulley. I am now going to use the pulley itself as the trigger wheel. The pulley magnet in the sensor is .240" in diameter; the slots in the wheel are .123" deep & .222". The sensor will be about .020" from the pulley. Does anyone see a problem with this setup? Attached is a photo of the drilled pulley.
Thanks,
James

The pulley slots are .222" wide.

Here is the final setup. Cutting notches in the crank pulley worked perfectly and I am getting an excellent 2.4 volts AC from the VR sensor.

How did you cut those holes so accurately on the pulley?

Most likely on a CNC machine.

I did it on the mill with an indexed rotory table.
