Rotary -rpm's reading too high

Post by franken7 »

I have an MS1 w/ v3 board installed on an 85 rx7 with an SE 13b. The rpm's that are read on megatune are about 1k rpm higher than what the tach shows. I have tried both the leading and trailing coils with the same result on each. I'm wondering if rpm spikes are causing this or if there is something special that needs to be changed for a rotary engine. Thanks in advance for any advice.

The tach on my 83 is about 600 rpm optimistic after 5500 or so. I'd be suspecting the tach itself. If the car's running fine you probably don't have a noisy trigger to the MS.
