engine stops picking revs at 2200

Can anyone tell me why the engine stops picking revs at 2200 ~ 2400rpm ??!!

These are the symptoms.

I start the engine and runs beautifully at 750rpm at 10 degs advance - then I try to give it some throttle; know if I rush the throttle open it will definitely stall, but if I give it some time it will pick up speed and stop at 2300rpm. The engine will feel like some thing is stopping it !!!

I thought it was lean but the plugs were black (still havint connected my AFR - but I am sure its not lean.)

Can anyone help me please!

Engine is a toyota 5efte at 15 psi (which currently has no boost - its not connected) and MS 2 pcb v3.0.

Thank you .

I'd like to help, but I need a bit more information. Could you post a data log of it losing the reves, and a copy of your MSQ?

Is this a stock distributor, or has it been modified? Any teeth ground off the stock trigger wheel?

I see you have this set to a 4-1 trigger wheel. Are you ignoring the distributor trigger and using a homemade crank trigger?

No, triggering is from the distributor... I made no other modifications...

Then turn off the wheel decoder. It should not be used with four equally spaced teeth.
