I have a Cavalier with a 3.4l ran by ms2. when i switch my car to run or right after i crank my engine dies. i took the DIS bypass Relay out and it solves everything.
I'm not quite sure to understand what the DIS Relay does. is anyone having any idea why its shutting off the engine or any explication? i've already checked my wiring.

I have the same problem after I installed the DIS, it will not run with the relay, but it will run without it, which is in the Limp Home mode.
I have taken the DIS out and installing EDIS.
I changed modules, coils etc etc.
Interesting to know what you find.

The relay is supposed to provide 5V on the Bypass wire (Tan/Black). This switches the ICM from running on base timing, to being adjusted by the ECM.

If you're able to run on base timing, but not while the ECM is controlling timing you have the base settings or timing table wrong.

I would suspect that you're basic settings are wrong.

The GM DIS system used on the 60 degree V6 needs an additional 60 degrees of timing advance added to the overall timing, in comparison to a dizzy equipped set-up. I'm not sure how to set this up using an MS, but had to overcome this when using code59 in a GM ECM.
