AFR problems after flashing v3.11 code in error

Post by travelling_herb »

Hi all,

I’ve been running an MS2 on a v3 main board in my Triumph Spitfire (4cylinder 1500cc) successfully for a couple of years gradually refining the map along the way. I wanted to do some further tweaking and source a rolling road tune and since I had lost the original v2.88 ini file decided to update to the latest version. Unfortunately I had flashed v3.11 before realising this was not suitable and re-flashing to v2.891.

I’m getting the AFR ratio from a Techedge 2j1 wideband controller which also has a gauge to show the AFR being measured.

Since the flash to v3.11 and v2.891 I have two problems

1. The AFR is fluctuating between very lean and very rich on constant throttle and RPM (even when stationary). It doesn’t happen immediately but will not normally take long to start. I will be checking the fuel pressure and injectors the next time I get to work on the car

2. The fluctuating AFR is not being represented in MegaTune correctly. MegaTune will switch between max and min values but not in relation to the values of the wideband controller. I’ve checked the voltage going into the relay board and it tracks the techedge gauge with a voltage between 0-5v as expected. Also switching the AFR input to a narrowband controller in the configurator will confirm the 0-5v values in MegaTune correctly.
I’ve attached two msq files of the setup prior to flashing to v3.11 and from recently post the flashing. I also have log files but they are several megabytes so haven’t posted here for now.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Did you recalibrate the AFR table for your Techedge after flashing the newer code? It sounds like the table is calibrated for NB.......

Just a thought.............

I also had the same problem. Ken has hit the nail on the head, I had to run the Calibrate AFR Table and select the TechEdge and then write to the MS. :)
