Hey guys, have just finished building my first ms2 board, and have some questions relating to idle air control on a mazda miata mx5, i am going a bit unconventional with modifications, as I have turbocharged it, and installed quad throttle bodies, do i still absolutely need the iac valve? or can i get away with not having one and just running the engine at a higher revs for a predetermined time?

All they do is raise the idle speed slightly for cold start and warm-up. You could do this manually with your foot :D but it may be inconvenient.

Thanks mate, its purely a race car, so it gets warmed up before going out on the track

Just run it at a higher idle then— it's not like you'll be stopping at junctions on the track :)
