The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.

So riddle me this... How is it possible for my Innovative LC-1 to read 14 to 15 AFR while the display on my laptop (the AFR gauge) in my Tuner Studio reads 8 to 10 at the same time. In fact, tuner studio never reads an AFR higher than 10.5 no matter how lean I make the mixture. What doesn't make sense to me is that tuner studio is getting its input seem the same WB02 sensor yet the readings are so different. Have I missed something? Was there something I didn't calibrate correctly?

Worth trying again. Pretty sure I did but this has the look of something obvious that I missed. One of those 'how the heck did I miss that' type of things.

Sounds like MS is set to accept a narrow band O2 sensor. Which is round about 1v rather than 0-5v of a wideband. Approx.

Yeah, I'm a little stumped because I re-calibrated the O2 sensor and redid the 'write to controller' but I'm still getting wildly different readings between the actually innovative gauge and the TS display. TS sees the mixture as being 40% richer than the the Innovative display which explains why autotune isnt working... It thinks the motor os running way rich and leans it out to the point of stalling. So, back to my original issue... I agree that it seems as though TS thinks its getting it's input from a narrowband.

Probably stating the obvious, but IIRC, the LC-1 has a narrowband output as well as wideband. Have you checked the other one - just in case the factory wired them wrong? Anything seems possible with the LC-1

So, I should be seeing between 0 and 5 volts from the analog output wire of the LC-1, correct? Any chance that I needed to hook the LC-1 up to a laptop and 'program' the analog output so that the signal is the correct voltage for TS to interpret?

I'm not familiar with the LC-1, but does it have a calibrate position which gives a fixed voltage output for checking purposes? Or should be able to check the actual voltage against what its reader says. There's a chart in the MS manual which gives voltages for various makes.

It's been a while since I set up my LC-1, but I think I remember having to use the Innovate configuration software to set at least one of the outputs (probably the anolog output) to 0 to 5 volts. If I remember correctly the software presents you with a page that shows your current voltage range selection for either output as an X,Y graph with provisions on that same page to adjust/change it.
Another thing that apparently causes minor variation between the two outputs is having the analog gauge grounded at a different point (or through a different path) than the output to the Mega/microsquirt.
Ok, that makes sense. Upon further reading, it looks likened the 2 analog outputs is configured as a narrow band. That must be the one hat I have wired to my MSII. I'll have to figure out how to configure both outputs to function between 0 and 5 volts. Side note, I do have both the grounds as well as the MSII grounded to the same bus bar to try and eliminate any ground variation as recommended by the Innovative literature.

Ok, as suspected... It was my lack of reading through all of the documentation. Yes, one of the LC-1 analog outputs is 0-1v which explains why TS was seeing different readings. Easy fix, connected the WB02 to my laptop and changed the output so that both output a 0-5 volt reading. Now, both the innovative gauge and the TS display the same valve... Problem solved. Thanks to all for the help on this one, on to the next challenge...
