MS compatability with 5 pin TPS

Just wondering if anyone has heard of or has experience with using a 5 pin non-potentiometer TPS with MS, instead of the usual 3 pin potentiometer sensor. From my initial investigating with a multimeter it seems like my stock TPS has a +5v pin and then 4 signal grounds that go back to the stock ecu. The current passes to one of the grounds depending on the current throttle position to indicate CT, WOT, low-mid open throttle, and mid-high open throttle.
I doubt that it is possible without extra circuitry, and I am probably going to upgrade to a more modern TPS regardless, I just want to see if it could be done.

You could daisy chain a series of resistors between ground and 5V Then connect their junctions to your switch, and the output of that to MS. Say 1k resistors. Better than nothing, I suppose. But I'd personally fit a normal pot. Perhaps one is used on a later version of your engine, which fits easily?

I was thinking something like that could work. I agree though; I'm just going to find a pot TPS to use. Thank you for the reply.

ceralphs,
Putting resistors isn't likely to work, as the TPS code uses the
rate of change of the TPS signal to set accel enrichments, and a resistor scheme would give a step function that would cause the rate of change to jump all over the place.
You may be do without the TPS entirely if your MAP signal is reasonably smooth and you use exclusively MAPdot for accel enrichment (or X-Tau). You would lose 'flood clear mode', though. See:
