Does anyone know of a suitable 55mm to 60mm throttle body for a forced induction application?

I'm in England so a vehicle available over here would be ideal, or I don't mind buying off the shelf if the price is not to horendeous.

A TPS compatible with megasquirt will also be needed.

Any help will be much appreciated.

hi i live in the uk can you tell me what engine you are intending to put it on, for the simple reason, i have a fiat 2.ol twincam was running carbs, now fitted a turbo, i know someone who has built an inlet manifold himself and bolted it onto a zetec engine and it works fine. very simple afair just using metal tubing.

cheers mat

Hi,

I know the alfa 75 has a nice large tb with a MS compatible TPS. But check ebay.de and search for "drosselklappe" you will find a lot of cheap throttle bodies there and most germans are willing to send to the uk.

here to make life easy: http://search.ebay.de/drosselklappe ;)

Do I have to use a throttle body from a forced induction vehicle?

I will be running 20PSI (more if I can modify the map sensor/ECU).

I did a search for drosselklappe and the most suitable option seemed to be from a VR6?

It's for a Renault 5 Turbo by the way.

The EEC1V Escort Cosworth is meant to have a bigger TB than the earlier Cosworth models. That being said well over 350 bhp is available in a standard Sapphire Cosworth TB allthough I'm not sure on sizes.
Sapphire Cosworth has the idle speed control valve built into the casting and there are plenty of breakers selling saff parts.

Try http://www.passionford.com/ for info on specific models.

You do not however need a throttle body from a forced induction car, it's just a hole with a flap at the end of the day.

The RS2000 16 valve has a 50mm throttle body and some of the RS2000 boys have fitted the 65mm Focus central body.

You will need to register to see the post below but there is some good info.

PM me if you need any pictures of a Sapphire Cosworth 4x4 TB as I've got one sitting on my driveway :D

On old Opel-cars (CIH engine) the throttlebody of a BMW 736 is very often used.

Diameter is 65mm, if I'm not confused.

I used a TB from a Volvo 2.3L turbo, a 760 I think it was
It measures about 55mm but the TPS was a switch type. I took a better TPS from I think a Ford and modified the TB shaft to fit.

This is on a n/a 2276cc VW at the moment, turbo later.

Have a look around the scrappy. Theres loads of TBs but not too many turbo ones near me.
