Front Panel express

Post by JamesP »

Is anyone looking to put together a 'Front Panel Express' design for the new v3.000 PCB?

Regarding the front panel express layouts, where's the hole for the MAP?

If a second MAP is fitted - I live in Switzerland and can get a bit high here at times, esp if off skiing - would that take up part of the proto area?

When ordering the V3.0 partial kit could I order a second MAP at the same time.

Thanks

Thanks for the files, couldn't view thr FPE files at work, for some reason they wont allow us to download additional software onto our work PC's....... can't think why....

Now back home I can see the MAP hole.

Re the second MAP sensor... no problems if it's a digikey item, I thought that this was a part of the partial kit and as such may not be available from digikey.

Perhaps a note at the bottom of the digikey BOM with the code is enough, or perhaps something more fancy, the digikey BOM for the V3.0 PBC will probably be a bit complex given all the various options available.
Perhaps we should get a 'tick this box to select this option' autogenerated BOM.... but then perhaps not.

Thanks again, good luck with the V3 testing, can't wait.

James

Note to self on reading this through.... limit use of word 'perhaps'

I have a suggestion... ditch the LED clips.

I have done this on the MS units I sell. I just reduced the LED hole size to 0.200 (so the LED fits nicely by itself), and lowered the hole so that the bottom of the hole is 1/16" above the PCB. The LED leads position the LED in the hole very well, and it's MUCH MUCH MUCH easier to assemble and disassemble the case.

And for a nice look you can get some rubber bulkhead whatsitcalled thats fits on the LED´s. Easy to take away the LED´s (board) and you even get some dust and water protection. Less chance of vibration damage also.
Looks very good with "flat top" 5mm LED´s.

I think the word you're looking for is "grommet"

Ha ha ha!

If you found grommet at the bottom of a coffee cup in the US then someone has played a joke on you!
