Cold start problems

Motor: VW 9A 2L 16v bored 40 over, T3/T4 turbo in a 1981 Scirocco.
Fuel System: MS1 V3 running both spark and fuel.
No ISV.

On cold start, it runs lean and I have to flutter the accelerator to get it running warm enough to function on its own.

I've been fighting this for years, making it richer ...

Cold start

I am having an on going battle to get the car to run correctly on start up.
Its a 2L16v (9A) VW. I can get it to crank and start, but runs about 19 until it reaches 70 deg. I have no ISV either.
I richen the fuel mix, but it does not seem to help much, then I lean it out thinking that the wide band ...

Re: Versions?

Just the comm. I can shut doown the TS, re start and it still will not connect. It takes a reboot to usually get it to function.

Tonight the SSD arrived so I'm reloading to Win 7 32 bit. I'll know more tomorrow :)

Versions?

I have had trouble with TS locking up for the past few days on my MS V3. The net book is an EEE PC 1000h with XP home.
Its worked well for quite a while.
I saved my files and uninstalled TS. Removed all the folders from the V1.006 version and installed V1.007.
When it runs, it still has all the ...

VW Throttle body and TPS

I bought a car with MS installed. The PO did a horrible job wiring the car (All one gauge/color wire).
In making a new harness, I got to the TB. It has a 3 pin connector socket as well as a cable with 3 pins. TPS was wired to the cable connetor.
I cannot read any values on the multimeter on the ...

VW speed sensor

On the back of the speedo, VW added a hall effect sensor that is intended for the mfa.
Can this be used to feed speed readings to MS?

Re: Mystery Inj firing

Ok 2 years ago my map sensor died causing the MS to read 100 kPa at all times.
This flooded the engine immediately.
Could a vac leak cause similar problems?

Mystery Inj firing

A freinds MSII system can start out running well, but intermittently foul up.
Opening the hood, he says he can hear the injectors triggering.
I was thinking it was the load on the MS board, but....
Using a new, seperate MSII and relay boards, the car ran perfectly, then did it again.

Since the main ...

Re: Tunerstudio As a Permenant Dash Display

I bought an EEEPC. They can be had for under $300.
It carry s my music and runs GPS as well.
Talking to the MS does not require a lot of power or cycles and the software foot print is small.
Battery life is between 4-6 hours.

MT and this software no problem for it.

Tuning and LC-1

I am running a MS V1 with an Lc-1.
After adding a turbo, I moved the O2 sensor higher up the pipe about 12" from the catalytic converter where it was.
This way, I avoid having the LC1 box too close to the heat.

But now the O2 sensor is readling fully rich or lean with no adjustments in between ...

I am running an MSII on .29 on a VW 2L 16v.
In the warm up wizard, should the car be running stoich or lean to rush the warm up?
