Re: firewall connector

I started with an intermediate connector. What I found is I tripled the number of possibilities of having a wiring problem. I am not talking about running the wrong wire to the wrong place... I am talking about having a loose connection in a connector and having to trace down where the problem is ...

I had the same problem way back when. Forget what it was though.

Did you setup the settings.ini file for LC-1 wideband in mega config program?

Re: LC-1 with gauge

Hi Jeff,

I have the same exact problem. Which means that it could be only one thing, those darned 450slc's!

I have an Old 50's vintage westinghouse analogue 0-3v meter that is spot on with my Tektronix multimeter. Both of them read about a half volt high of what Logworks and megatune read. I ...

Re: Wideband goes out and I'm dead at the side of the road

I have my LC-1 configured to output 2.5v or 14.7:1 during warmup and in case of fault. For me this effectively shuts off EGO if there is a fault. My AFR table is pretty much 14.7:1 throughout. I to am a little suspicious about the long term reliability of the LC-1.

On the other hand I had a vacuum ...

Re: MegaSquirt Vendor Feedback

I placed an order with DIYAutoTune about a month ago for a JimStim Kit. It arrived promptly. After sitting for a week I started assembling it and found one resistor missing. There was a bag for the resistor but no resistor in it. I e-mailed DIYAutoTune requesting a replacement and received one in ...

Re: Using fuel maps, dyno sheets for gearing

My mental musings:

At a certain speed you will need X amount of force to over come the friction of driving. (Tf) Tire to road friction + (Df) Drive train friction + (Wr) Wind friction (resistance)

I would postulate that Tf and Df don't increases significantly with speed. Wr (Wind resistance) does ...

TPS is an analogue input. The chances that you need to shield any of the wires is very low. High frequency digital inputs are much more susceptible to RF noise and crosstalk (Like the Tach input)

Hi sebch,

I have exchanged e-mails with other MegaSquirted K-Jetronic Mercedes owners and they have all gone with putting the fuel injector directly in the manifold without any buffering device. This has worked out very well. We had some worries about heat soak from the manifold causing problems ...

In my K-Jetronic conversion I put the injectors directly in contact with the manifold. It has been working very well. When I tried to use some K-Jetronic rubber washers the whole assembly was to tall to get a good seal.

I don't know how to control a 4 phase stepper with megasquirt.

But I do know that to reverse the direction of a multiphase motor is simply a matter of firing the phases in reverse order. So to step the motor forward you would fire coil 1, coil 2, coil 3 then coil 4. To step the motor backwards you ...

I think I would start with the adjustable regulator set at 38psi and get it running and go for a test drive. I would then drop your required fuel setting by 5% to 10% at which time you will be running lean. I would then increase your fuel pressure until your AFR at idle is back to where it was. I ...

Increasing the fuel pressure with your current injectors should proportionally increase the flow through the injectors as well as having a positive affect on atomization.

Do you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

I would have flat out sold my 1980 Mercedes 450slc if it hadn't been for MegaSquirt! I am confident that it runs better now than the day it was new with the stock K-Jetronic injection.

Simply an incredible product with incredible people behind it! My thanks to all who have contributed!

By tin, I mean apply a small amount of solder.

Soldering on the DB37 while hunched over the front fender definitely was not one of the more fun parts of my install but it has been reliable so far. I definitely reccomend using the hea shrink tubing as described.

I have found some AMP pins for DB crimp connectors that are machined instead of ...
