Yes, both from you. One early model, one from this year. The earlier model is the one with issues.

One controller drops off line

Hi, I have been using the new warmup analyzer with great success. One controller will bluetooth and never go offline. The other will run for a few minutes and then drop and reconnect. It seems to be random timing. sometimes it lasts a couple of minutes and others it drops in less than 30 seconds. Bo...

Re: project name

What OS and TS version are you using? Windows7 and TS V2.0.5d In new project it will let you type. I open TS, close the open project, and select new project. It shows the default Mycar but when you try to type it will only accept one character. Note- even after closing the current project and the d...

Re: 280zx L28et ignition setup and testing

All is well now, except for some additional mysterious car wiring issues. And my buddy forgot to tell me the name of the car, "Christine". Thanks bro. Every time I hit a new weird issue with this car he says oh yeah, there was this thing going on... How about letting me know up front!!! Tu...

Re: project name

So I was successful in going into the Megasquirt folder and renaming the file to my preferred name. Then used "open project" to open the project. Thanks for that info! I have not tried yet to start a new project but will soon, Swear it lets you start typing in a name and then bumps back to...

Re: MSII Reburn firmware failure

This is using a rs232 serial cable and the downloader with the latest code files saved in the downloads folder. Also tried other locations for these files like in the firmware folder in Megasquirt folder with the same result. Found a thread that states to copy the S19 file into C32 - Thanks trakkies

MSII Reburn firmware failure

MSII with 2.905 in a 280zx turbo newly converted to EDIS. It started after the initial install after correcting an unknown issue with the tach signal. Might have actually been the shielded cable? After having many issues with this installation and controller I thought it would be a good idea to rebu...

Re: 280zx L28et ignition setup and testing

Although not very definitive the edis does produce a voltage of about 3.5 before cranking and them drops off on the DMM.
There is tach signal now and it fires.
Thanks, mark

Re: 280zx L28et ignition setup and testing

There is no signal produced when the distributor is tested per your instructions. EDIS went on last night but still not seeing a tach signal? it started momentarily so the EDISitself must be working, right. Going to replace the tach wire tonight? Does EDIS send the same type of signal for testing? B...

Maybe it is because the project is open? I'll pay closer attention when starting a new project tonight.

Re: No rpm and no advance setting in TS

Point taken, I will be more careful with proofreading my posts.

The tach input is at pin 24 and the -coil is at pin 36. Always has been.

280zx L28et ignition setup and testing

There is another thread for no rpm on this car... Still trying to sort that out... This is a 1983 turbo motor that was running MS1Extra from the stock distributor with an internal CAS(I think) and a VB921 running the single coil. It has been upgraded to MSII and I am trying to figure out the best wa...

Re: No rpm and no advance setting in TS

This is the turbo distributor but there is no module in this vehicle?????

Is this what the 4 pin HEI module upgrade is for? to replace the stock module which was not attached to the dizzy but maybe under the dash of the donor car?

Thanks, Mark

Re: No rpm and no advance setting in TS

Repaired the stim and tested the controller. There is rpm adjustable with both pots and all of the rest are working also. So this seems to conclude that the controller is good. Still wondering why there is no advance showing in TS? Now testing the dizzy. It must pull a voltage low because there is n...

Re: No rpm and no advance setting in TS

What is the correct wiring for using the 4 wire 280zx distributor and MSII? It was wired to the diagram on DIYAutoTune inside of the Z guys info. http://www.DIYAutoTune.com/jwplayer_viral/images/cartech_articles/280zx/280zxt_v3_igbt_wiring.jpg But then I found this quote in the megamanual: "So ...
