On top of each spark plug are Accel brand coils from a Lincoln Town car V8. We think we have found the issue. The owner of the car had fabricated the harness with the ...

Coil Trigger-A C B A C B
Cylinder------1 5 3 6 2 4

But it runs on the back three OR the front three. Not on all of them at the same time. Could it be some kind of interference when ALL coils are on the spark plugs?

MegaJolt is left disconnected until we get it running.

EDIS on a Triple Carbed Datsun ...issues???

We just finished installing a 3.0 Datsun L motor with a pretty hefty cam, and triple 45 DCOE's. The ignition is EDIS-6 firing 6 brand new Coil-on-Plugs. Everything is confirmed working and the timing is correct on the cam and on the ACB firing order vs the 1-5-3-6-2-4 firing order on the L motor. We ...

EDIS Ignition logger?

This may be a dumb question but is ignition logging available for use with the EDIS system? If so how do I use it?

What is the "engine" parameter?

In my datalogs, I see it randomly spiking, and toggling. I don't know what it is and what it is logging. Can someone fill me in. Thanks!

Re: Lost PIP/SAW from MSII to EDIS6

I put it back together and it still didn't advance timing. So i scratched my head for a second while the car idled poorly at 0 TDC. I decided to grab the harness in various place and flex it around while the car was running. When I flexed the harness near the EDIS unit, the idle jumped up! :D Woohoo ...

Re: Lost PIP/SAW from MSII to EDIS6

No I don't have a scope but I have a brand new spare EDIS-6 unit that I swapped in, and it made no difference. Are there any external factors that might cause SAW to drop out? Low battery voltage, dirty VR signal? Bacause the car runs, injects and sparks fine, even the tach is correct, and that's ...

Re: Lost PIP/SAW from MSII to EDIS6

Wire paths are all perfect from connector to connector. I opened up the box and my jumpers are all good. No obvious physical anomalies on the boards. I will reconnect when the rain stops and see if it was just a freak, loose, or intermittent connection in the connectors.

Re: Lost PIP/SAW from MSII to EDIS6

I plan on pulling the connectors and scoping the wire paths. I will have to check out the jumpers inside too. It has been a while since I soldered those. I will focus on the SAW wire. Thanks.

Lost PIP/SAW from MSII to EDIS6

All of a sudden my timing stopped reacting to the maps tuned into my MSQ. The timing is stuck at about 0 deg and will not budge if I rev it, change the trigger wizard, or tweak the timing maps. The car ran perfectly for over four years. What could be wrong? It runs, but poorly at a fixed timing of 0 ...
