Re: How does MS II work without an O2 sensor?

Good plan getting it to work on the 455. The built 400 should not be that much different so it should be easy to dial it in. Ya hate to hurt a new motor learning how to tune the system.

Re: How does MS II work without an O2 sensor?

I missed the 6al thing in his post. I assume the A is just the current version of the '6' and the L means it has the limiter? I have 6's but not on my MS project so I have never read much on it. To start with I would think he could use the tach output from the 6 box and setup the MS to work on ...

Re: How does MS II work without an O2 sensor?

MS can be set up to not use an O2. I had problems with mine so I just went into megatune and turned it off. Drove the car for 2 weeks with no issues but I already had my tables pretty well set up. If you are really good at tuning or know someone that is you may be able to do it without one. You will ...

Re: Narrow band O2 vs WB

So a narrow band will tell me

yes I am running at 14.7:1
i am running somewhere below 14.7:1
i am running somewhere above 14.7:1

and that it?

How does ego correction work off of that? Or doesnt it?

Narrow band O2 vs WB

I am currently running a wide band and have always had minor glitches with it. Now its having major issues that are looking like they will take time and money. I was wondering how different a narrow band is going to be to get used to? What range do they display? Once you are out of that range do ...

Im no expert but it seems like I read somewhere that if you do it you want to make sure they stick up a bit so any fuel (or crud) does not pool on the tip and damage things.

Also remember most thread sealers are non conductive. Many single wire sensors warn you not to use sealer.

You could also have it backwards so it goes down when you open it, easy fix flip 2 wires. If the reading does not change when you move the throttle you could have the wiper wire to the wrong terminal in the TPS.

On my projects I calibrated the TPS without the throttle linkage to the pedal hooked up ...

Single wire temp sensor should be fine since even in the 2 wire ones one side is ground in the MS anyway. Single wire just increases your chances of ground differentials. Are you planning on sharing the same sensor for your stock ECU and the MS? If so you better read up on that in the manual because ...

What kind of RPM's do you expect to be running? If you are expecting to spend much time much over say around 4500 the stock chev 5.7 stuff may be a bit thin and you may want to look for the larger 454 stuff, the Holley upgrade for the GM's, or an old Projection like I have and dump the analog ecu ...

I think the stock GM one is almost the same as the holley one I have and the regulator is built into the body. The holley one you have to pick a plug out of the cover so you can adjust it, not sure if thats the same on the gm one. The pump I posted is what I am running on my holley. I dont remember ...

Im not sure what you are asking.

If you are talking about the MS relay board it has a relay a fuse for the fuel pump so the fuel pump connects direct to the relay board. The other relays are for the 'main' power and fast idle. There is a main fuse, fuel pump fuse, and 2 injector fuses, at least ...

Im running this Holley. I have heard others complain about the noise of electric pumps. I can only hear it when you first turn the key on. I cant hear it at all with the motor running even when I listen for it. I have stock mufflers so the car is not unusually loud. My 05 dodge and 97 chevy I can ...

Daytona, do you have more specifics on that unit? I looked at a few cars and they were either MP or still had carbs.

Jack, is yours a production piece? Or did you make it or have it made?
A link or picture and more info would be handy if you have a chance to post.

Thanks!

The ones I have seen for fairly stock applications have been in that size range. If you are using an internal electric pump dont forget that will take up some space also.

I believe the 400, 350, 301, 260's will fit but its been a while so I could be mistaken. Either version of the HEI will work with the MS2 & 3.xx boards. The one with the 4 pin module (74-79) can easily signal the MS for fuel control. It can also be 'locked down' and then you feed the pickup coil ...

Edit: I got my regulator threads mixed up but this sort of fits here also....

I read on some other site that there is aftermarket EFI system(s) out now that use PWM control of the fuel pump to eliminate the need for a bypass regulator. I was unable to find any details but it would seem logical.

I will try to go get some pics and measurements soon. The flange is sort of an oval with 2 mounting holes and it has a single round bore.

Is the hole in the intake rectangle(ish) like that adapter? If it is I would look at those motorcycle atv type of throttle bodies. I have seen some that ...
