Re: Ford PWM wiring question

I am using the relay board. I jumped from the center to V on the board and also jumped were the relay is mounted. I am running a wire from the board, FIDLE port, to the PWM valve (12 volts). Now the instructions say to put a diode across the PWM, banded end to 12 volt supply non banded to the lead ...

Re: Warm up AFR

Really the best way to find the ideal warmup AFR for your setup is to experiment. Try leaning it out and see how it runs. My truck likes to be around 13:1 when cold (temps around 40degF) and gradually leaner til hot at 14.5:1.

It's not linear either. curve starts out with a much more aggressive ...

Re: Question about MS for just fuel injection.

If you are new to the EFI/Programmable Engine Management thing I'd sugest reading the book "Performance Fuel Injection Systems" by Matt Cramer and Jerry Hoffman.

This will allow you to make more informed decisions, and less likely to make costly mistakes when converting from carburetor to EFI ...

Thanks again for all your help.

I guess in the future when I am utilizing functions I don't usually mess with, I'll make sure I have my wife's laptop so I can fix it

Re: injector test mode stuck

When I loaded the MSQ after the reflash it was in test mode. I set the values from 100/60/60 to 0/6/60 set it to normal and cycled power it came right out.

Is it likely to be a glitch in the previous s19 file?

Re: injector test mode stuck

I got it running, thanks for the help.

I had to burn the new s19 file and reload my msq.

For some reason I also had to go back and identify the LC-1 wide band because it wasn't reading it at all. Didn't expect that.

So should I expect that the downloader won't work on the old laptop?

And is the ...

Re: injector test mode stuck

I'll go try the serial cable, so I should set the number of pulses to 0 the set it to normal mode and then burn or not?

then disconnect the serial cable and cycle power?

I loaded the v2.0 downloader to the laptop and it won't run, says there is a missing .dll

it's an old toshiba tecra that had ...

Re: injector test mode stuck

Thanks Lance for getting back to so quickly.

So can I just bootload the new s19 file over my older one, I think it is v2.886?

will I need to do anything else?

Right now I'm at work, and the laptop I have for tuning has no internet or USB, luckily I can burn a CD with the files I need to get them ...

injector test mode stuck

I was testing in injector test mode I entered 100 pulses of 60mS with off time of 60mS and now it is "stuck"

it has the injector running just straight "on" and I can't get it out of test mode. even after setting the # of pulses to 0 andburning or not burning that value and setting to normal mode ...

Re: Need Help with my intake design

I was talking about the whole "front" wall moving forward a bit. Of course that could be dependent on space limitations.

Besides that it looks great!

Re: Need Help with my intake design

I think the issue may be with the proximity of the front ports to the opening. I'd be inclined to extend the plenum forward an inch or so and radius the opening to allow for a smooth transition.

Re: MS-II daughter card prolem?

Sorry, that was the .msq from before I switched it, It's definitely one now and running on both banks. But it still goes rich when I switch to 2 squirts alternating.

I'll post about this on the tuning fuel board with the latest .msq, but that will be later when I'm home.

But thanks for taking the ...

Re: MS-II daughter card prolem?

I changed the ECU setting to 1 MSII. This got the other injector driver working. However, when I changed to alternating squirts it goes way rich and stalls.

I know this is not the right forum for that type of problem but does anyone have any insight on this.

Here's my .msq

Thanks so much for the tip. I read the post you linked to and thought to myself how could that be? Then I remembered about a week ago when I was linking the laptop to the megasquirt everything was blank and it said ECU not set. I went and set it but I ...

MS-II daughter card prolem?

Hey everyone,
I've had my megasquirt up and running for nearly 2 months. just about have all the quirks sorted out.

Anyhow, its a version 3 board with the MS-II daugther board.

as I stated everything seemed fine. I had noticed In the factory wiring diagram that the 2 "banks" of injectors were ...

Re: Put in larger injectors, AFR all over the place

I did some more testing and the problems are mostly at idle and low map pressure. It bucks or surges because the AFR is going lean and rich. I tried adjusting the injector opening time and VE table. I noticed that it would only idle smoothly at a much richer AFR. With the old injectors it could ...

Re: fuel regulator

The biggest problem to running the regulator without a "vacuum port" is that the changes in intake manifold pressure is not accounted for and makes accurate injection more difficult.

Without trying to hijack this thread ,and picking up on the above,i fully understand the "why" but the "how ...

Re: JB Weld the Fuel Pressure Regulator?

Either properly machine the rail to accept that regulator, or get a remote mount regulator and tap the rail for pipe threads and get an AN adapter.

I understand the concept of staying on budget, but pressurized fuel systems should be done correctly.
