Re: High Idle RPM

It was the idle air control valve. I had it wired incorrectly. It will now idle at around 750 RPM. Now on to the rest of the tuning.

Re: High Idle RPM

Hello, I still cannot get my RPM to go down. I pulled the intake put in a new gasket sealed everything as good as I could get and I now get around 1800 RPM. Could I have a problem with the idle air control (stepper motor). When I unplug it nothing happens. Could I possible have it wired incorrectly ...

Re: High Idle RPM

Thanks. I will go thru my engine again and look for the leak. I purchased a turbo exhaust manifold from Brazil that does not fit well and it might be the cause. I will switch it out for the original OEM exhaust manifolt and give it a try.

Re: High Idle RPM

I thought I would ad some additional information. I did have the PCV connected to the intake manifold and thought that it was the cause of the increased idle. I disconnected it from the intake manifold and plugged the hole, but the idle is still high. I also tightened all the intake/exhaust bolts ...

High Idle RPM

I have finally got my inline 6 (chev 250) to start and run with megasquirt. It has a very high idle at between 1800 and 2200 RPM. I have read thru the "tuning your megasquirt" and have checked for vacuum leaks and adjusted the throttle stop. I do not appear to have a vacuum leak and the throttle ...

Re: EDIS 6 on inline 6

I have it wired up to run on limp-home mode. I just read thru the info and it looks like I have the coil pack coil wires going to the wrong cylinders. I have coil back b and c incorrect. Easy to fix and I should have read the instruction better.

EDIS 6 on inline 6

I am putting megasquirt on a inline 6. It is currently running on the carb and have hooked up megasquirt and as far all of the sensors are working. My plan was to switch over to megasquirt to operate the fuel injection with no control over spark and them convert it over to the EDIS6. Is this the ...

Re: Where to find EDIS-6 in engine bay

Matt, Thanks. I read another old post the gave me the same info. I will look for the module in an Aerostar, I did look at an explorer and couldn't find it.

Thanks again Bob

Where to find EDIS-6 in engine bay

I went to the local Pick a Part this weekend to get the EDIS-6 componets for my project, but could not find the EDIS-6 module in the engine bay. I got all the other parts I need. Can anyone tell me where it is located. I did find an ESIS-4 module on a four cylinder car but could not find the EDIS-6 ...

Re: Fuel Pump will not go on

I got the pump working tonight. There was a weak solder connection on the relay board. My next issue is I am not receiving a tach signal from the distributor, everything work fine on the stim. I am fuel injecting a chev inline 6 with the old style electronic ignition with a 4 pin discributor. MCII ...

Re: Fuel Pump will not go on

I still have not had any luck getting the fuel pump running thru the relay board. I have an aftermarket wiring kit and it is set up to run an electric fuel pump. Is is OK to run the fuel pump this way and bypass the megasquirt computer.

Re: Fuel Pump will not go on

AR67202, I have only gotten the pump to start up once. When I turn the key off and turn it in again, the pump does not start up. I have only managed to get it to go on once. I had a few other problems which I have worked out. Initially the TPS was not working and I had it wired incorrectly. It looks ...

Re: Fuel Pump will not go on

Thanks for the reply, but I think I still have issues. There is no fuel in the tank so the fuel pump has nothing to pressurize, so shouldn't it remain on? If you think of any other solutions let me know. I can get the pump to run if I run a live wire to the + wire on the pump.

Fuel Pump will not go on

I am in the initial steps of starting my car. The first time I hooked up the computer (MS_II) to the car and turned on the key the pump went on for a few seconds and shut off and it has not been on since then. I have checked all the wiring from the computer to the relay board and to the pump and ...
