Re: tell me about a good generic linear TPS

Check out some of the motorcycle TPS's. They have some really small ones.
A word of advice if you research the motorcycle ones. Shop around between the various brands and models. There is quite a price swing between them.
If you find one that fits your size requirement, I'm sure a search on the ...

Re: MS II and wide band O2

Yes you have to use the controller to supply the signal to the ecu. The innovate should have an output for a 5 volt signal which goes to the ego in on the MSII. You have to tell Tunerstudio which kind of wideband you are using. The instructions are in the Megamanual.
Don't run the sensor in the ...

Re: MS II and wide band O2

All that means is that MSII will accept a signal from a wideband controller, which is usually 0-5v. The only 3 wire sensors are narrow band.
Basically a narrow band will only tell you if it is rich or lean. A wide band will tell you how much rich or lean it is
You need to Google wide band controller ...

Re: MS II and wide band O2

You need a controller for a wideband.
A lot of people use the Innovate, which you can get from DIY Autotune . There are a lot of others just Google it. There are none of them that are cheap.
There is no such thing as a three wire wide band sensor.
I saw your post on the HAMB.
I am also building a ...

Re: Going distributorless

Here you go.
Pin 1: Gray - A (cylinders 1 and 4)
Pin 2: Switched 12V – from relay
Pin 3: Gray - B (cylinders 2 and 3)
Pin 4: Ground

If it was me I would update the firmware to 3.78 and use the auto trigger setup. This almost makes the toothed wheel setup foolproof.

You can set an injector timing delay in Tunerstudio.

Re: VR from solid state lawn mower coil

Does your application require you to control the ignition with the MS. If it doesn't I would just use the stock ignition module and either use a hall sensor on the flywheel or an inductive pickup off the plug wire to get your tach signal for MS.

Yes - H2 burns up to 10 times faster that gasoline ...

Re: VR from solid state lawn mower coil

The fact that you have a pulse at all from the coil suggests that it COULD be used; the question becomes 1) how to condition it so as not to fry the MS, and 2) how precise / repeatable is it.
Let me clear this up. If this is the type of module that he has there is only one electrical connection ...

Re: VR from solid state lawn mower coil

It sounds like this beast is an AC-CDI; the voltage from the charging coil is probably 250-300vac. You COULD try a limiting circuit of a 1k resistor leading to two 1N4007 diodes; this will allow you to use the VR circuit on the V3.0 board.

The diodes are wired tip-to-tail pointed in opposite ...

Re: VR from solid state lawn mower coil

Don't use a reed switch, it will not be able to keep up with the speed of the engine. If you are not that electronics savvy , your best bet would be to purchase a hall sensor from someone like DIY AUTOTUNE. That way you will be sure that it is something that is compatible with your MS unit.
Just out ...

Re: VR from solid state lawn mower coil

Don't do it. The kill wire on these ignitions have some pretty high voltage on them. It would probably fry your VR circuit.
Seeing as how you already have the magnets on the flywheel , I would use a hall effect sensor.

The old V Max was a 70 deg offset and the new one is 65deg. It is basicly two 70 deg v twins with the cranks offset 180 deg.
The ignition has one tooth on the flywheel and two pickups, but each pickup actually contains two pickups. Each cylinder has its own wasted spark ignition system. I don't ...

On the motorcycle that those came off of they probably had provision for a vacuum fitting to sync the butterflys. On some bikes they are on the manifold and some on the throttlebody. From the picture it looks like you need to tap the throttlebodies. then tee them together.
