Re: V3.57 active flyback 95lb Low impedance injector issue

Yeah I got the injector opening time nailed. I figgured out why the maps were so off and hopefully this can be a lesson learned and save some one some trouble. These injectors are very large for my apication at idle and it was difficult to tune because the idle injector pulse width is only 1.4ms. I ...

Re: V3.57 active flyback 95lb Low impedance injector issue

Thanks Matt, That is exactly what I thought. Now what about this. Why would injectors twice the size (1000cc) of the ones I replaced (440cc) require much Higher VE values in the map. I tried to drive and tune last night and the car was way leaner than with the lower flow 440cc injectors It also look...

Re: V3.57 active flyback 95lb Low impedance injector issue

Is it normal for that setting not to affect idle quality while reducing it down to 1 though? Did you get a chance to look at the data log I attached. I have an inconsistent hiccup in the idle. Do you think that my idle pulse width being about 1.2ms and my injector open time is 1ms could affect this?...

V3.57 active flyback 95lb Low impedance injector issue

Hi guys, I have a Preassembled from DIY, MS2 v3.57 running 2.886 code on a turbo 2.4L GM engine. I have had great luck with the system, tuned great and making awesome power. I had 42LB high impendence injectors. I just swapped to 95LB low impedance injectors using the flyback circuit. I did the proc...

Please help weird startup quirk

When I crank my engine over for the first time on a cold start, many times it will not stay running maybe 2 seconds. On the second start it always runs fine. I would like to get it to that point on the first start. Then if I start the engine hot, it cranks over and starts then the RPM drops way down...

Re: Question regarding GM/Saturn ICM ignition timing MSII v3.57

Ok, after further investigation and about ready to pull my whole front engine cover off, I noticed a couple of groves on the timing chain cover with a 15 above one and a 0 above the other which resembled TDC. I am glad I saw this because it may have saved me a lot of time. I ran a test and am hoping...

Re: Question regarding GM/Saturn ICM ignition timing MSII v3.57

Bummer, I don’t have any timing marks on the outer surface of my timing chain cover for reference. I am going to have to pull it all off and get inside then mark TDC on the crank shaft then put it back together then mark the cover at TDC. Then what do you recommend? I can’t get marks o...

Re: Question regarding GM/Saturn ICM ignition timing MSII v3.57

I did some more data logs and analysis and came across an interesting issue which may have solved my question. I was doing an RPM sweeps in neutral to adjust my another ECU and noticed a strange misfire at about 3000 rpm and up. I noticed that because my map sensor value was jumping around quite a b...

Question regarding GM/Saturn ICM ignition timing MSII v3.57

Hello, I need to just confirm some settings. I am a little nervous that my ignition timing is not exactly what it says. I am a little curious about my trigger offset being 52 degrees. Does this seem right? I have played with the setting up and down from 52 and the engine runs best here. Otherwise th...

Re: MS2 v3.57 2.886 getting rpm in mega tune but no fuel

So my question earlier was a little bland. I was in a hurry. My issue is, that I have my MS2 installed but not getting any fuel delivery. I have a good rpm signal. In my reading in the megamanual, it says that LED 14 should flash each time there is an injection event. It only flashes 2 times at the ...

Re: Question about the GM DIS ignition setup

S. Bretz

Would you mind filling me in on what your ignition settings are for your saturn ICM. I am having trouble getting RPM to display in megatune while I am cranking. I tried to data log while cranking too but think I messed up somewhere on that.

Thank you!

Re: Question about the GM DIS ignition setup

Does the the ICM from the Saturn need to be mounted to a grounded surface? I have a great spot to mount it but the surface is plastic. I wouldn't think it needs to be because there are already two ground wires in the harness. I just thought I would ask before mount it and button everything up. Thanks

Re: Question about the GM DIS ignition setup

S. Bretz, I have a questions for you since you are a saturn guy. I have been studdying the MegaSquirt Manual GM DIS section and the wire colors and the pin locations and it says • Module pin B or C - white wire - DB37 #36 (V3 main board, ignition output signal pin for V2.2), • Module pin...

Re: Question about the GM DIS ignition setup

The engine is a 1999 OBDII chevy cavalier 2.4L LD9. So I could use one of a earlier OBD1 chevy cavalier 4 cylinder correct?

Thanks a ton for the help!

Question about the GM DIS ignition setup

Hello, I am installing a MSII v3.57 onto a 4 cylinder chevy cavalier. I read in the manual how to wire it up and I am a little confused. The manual says to set the megasquirt up just like for HEI system and it also uses the bypass relay the same way. I understand that part. The part I am having trou...
