Re: Running electric fan with FIdle port

Actually, I was getting approximately .7 v, I was expecting 12v to trigger my fan relay. Matt, do you see any issue with the suggestion to remove the relay and jump it as discribed above.

To clarify my earlier post a bit, after the jumper is installed in lieu of the FIDLE relay on the relay board ...

Re: Running electric fan with FIdle port

The signal on relay board input pin #30 will be a "logic level" ground...about 0.7 vdc IIRC. It will swing between battery voltage (when off) to near ground when on.

I removed the FIDLE relay from the board and jumped relay socket pin #2 to pin #4 then used the signal at pin #6 of the 20 pin strip ...

Re: IAC and starting

I found that the engine will not restart while going down the road in gear. I have to shove in the clutch and use the starter, then it starts instantly.

Most vehicles with standard transmissions require the clutch be depressed to start. Prevents starting in gear...also make push/overrun starts ...

Re: ? about hysteresis

pierre71,

I remember awhile back (may not be true now...) that if you didn't enable the "expanded coolant temp range" in MT when the clt temp hit the limit it would -for lack of a better description - fold back. It would drop the out-of-limit temp and report something like 170F, IIRC.

If MT is ...

Re: mechanical type idle speed control

I picked up a small solenoid from a jy car that operates an "air valve" (for lack of a better description). It's one piece (valve/solenoid) and I wired the solenoid to the wire that energizes the ac compressor clutch. When the clutch engages the valve opens and lets a small amount of air enter the ...

Re: Do it yourself wire shielding.... advice?

Another method is to use the outer braided mesh you find on coaxial cable such as used for a CB radio antenna connection. Be sure to solder a short length of wire to one end of the braid to use as a "drain" wire and connect this to ground. insulate the braided wire mesh so it is only grounded at the ...

Re: Ford IAC questions etc.

Panel,

I've given up on trying to reconcile the way my Ford IAC actually works with the way it "should" work. With two wires and PWM -polarity shouldn't be an issue, in other words, a current pulse should cause the pintle to retract

At 0% it's wide open, at 100% it's completely closed -just like ...

Re: Tuner Studio will expire in xx days, please upgrade?

Paul,

I've read this entire thread and must be missing something - how were you forced to upgrade: "...i had a dash was force to upgrade..."?

Pope,

"Had it not been the "removal" of one of the two features I use TS for, it is likely I would not have noticed a change."

Seems to me you want the ...

Re: MAF and MS? part 2 with new 2.900 code

durson1,

I've been following this thread for awhile as I'm trying to smooth out the SD to MAF bump also using B&G v2.90.

I am sure in TS (v0.999.3) there was a menu where you could select from several of the more common MAF curves, sorta like calibrating the thermistors..., can't find it now ...
