Re: High MAP reading at Idle????

No matter how many times you rotate the engine over, the cam will be 180 out. the cam has to be straight up with #1 piston TDC. Hence why you use a degree wheel to set cam timing, you have to be sure #1 is perfectly TDC. If the cam is 180 out, then it changes the firing order completely, then the ...

Re: High MAP reading at Idle????

Well, pretty sure we found the culprit, finally pulled the timing cover to discover that someone at sometime tried putting a cam in it and put the cam in 180* out AND it has practically a bicycle chain for a timing chain. Tonight I'm going to go retune it.

Re: High MAP reading at Idle????

I have it plumbed into one of the ports on the back passenger side of the plenum. I've also tried the port on the driver side in the lower intake where the PCV should be pulled from. Both have high readings. Tomorrow the timing cover is getting pulled to see if the engine jumped timing. One of my ...

High MAP reading at Idle????

Hey, I'm getting a readying of close to 76 kPa at idle! And kPa rises as I accelerate, which I know is right but, not that high though for gentle acceleration. The engine is a Chevy TPI 350. It has roughly 110-120 psi on all cylinders. No vacuum leaks that I can find. I've sprayed it all down with ...

Re: Got it to idle......kinda

Ok, so I got it to idle alot better. Found my idle screw was too tight and was holding the tb open a little too far thus leaning it out. So, now I just have to work out the AE and play with the VE table some more.

Got it to idle......kinda

Hey all, I'm running MS2 with 2.891 firmware. It's all hooked up on a test stand with a 5.0l cobra engine. My issue is, when it starts up cold (100 ish, live in las vegas) it idles great, but as time goes on and it gets warmer it starts to surge, but only if I snap the throttle. Now, my narrow band ...

Re: No Fidle Lite on stim PWM

It should be full on at 100% duty cycle. It won't respond quite as much to Hertz.

Is there a chance my TIP 120 is shot? If so, I spose Ill go grab a new one from frys. I'm 90% sure I hooked up the wires from the Q4 slot to the TIP right. Do I need to Jumper D8 or leave it empty as I have it now ...

Re: No Fidle Lite on stim PWM

Ok, I'm about 80% sure I got the PWM idle control hooked up as per the directions, but I have no lights on my stim verifying it. Should the Fidle light flash with response to Hz and duty cycle on my tuner studio? If so, I've tried several combinations. And heres a copy of my msq.
Oh, and I know ...

Re: No Fidle Lite on stim PWM

Ok, the ign seems to be working, the LED gets brighter and dimmer as I rotate the pots. Now, is the LED suppose to get dimmer as RPM is raised?

No Fidle Lite on stim PWM

Hello all, I just completed my first M/S build. :yeah!: I have a M/S 2, V 3.0 board and a Jim Stim V 1.5. Theres only a couple things I cant figure out. I have it set up to run EDIS, but I am not getting any ignition lights on stim but I am reading RPM. Just no blinky. Second, I get no light on the ...
