Re: GM DIS Relay

I have the same problem after I installed the DIS, it will not run with the relay, but it will run without it, which is in the Limp Home mode.
I have taken the DIS out and installing EDIS.
I changed modules, coils etc etc.
Interesting to know what you find.

Re: New to MS Tuning

Done that. I even changed the basic ignition set up from rising edge to falling edge. It will not respond to any timing setting and it will not run with the relay (limp home mode) in place, the engine will just wont start. It will start with the relay removed.

I know when to retreat and the time is ...

I have checked the wiring against the wiring schematic in the manaul for DIS and it is correct. Any ideas???

Re: New to MS Tuning

The EDIS wiring diagram does not match the Ford prints, not only in color code but orientation of the module. this makes a difference on which wires connect to the coil pack.
All that is history, I am keeping the DIS the engine is runing and only needs tuning. :yeah!:
Problem was a wire that I ...

Re: New to MS Tuning

Good to hear from you.

Orientation. It does make a difference on wich wires connect to the coil pack. Ford manual has it one way the megamanual has it the other way. This changes on which wires are terminated. Also it shows another connector which the manual points out not to use.

I am not a wire ...

Re: New to MS Tuning

Good points!!!
I have a first class timing light and it does work very nicely with the new tech stuff, bought just for that reason.
The sparkplugs? Yes since the others got flooded and I drop two in the floor and even if do not see the cracks, they can fail later, so I install a new set last night ...
