Re: Trigger Offset with Trigger Wizard

I have been thinking about this more. I think my distributor might be off a tooth compared to stock. Still adjusted to the proper timing of course. That would possibly explain why the trigger offset is so far off from factory.

I am going to rotate the engine to TDC and check the marks on the ...

Trigger Offset with Trigger Wizard

I apologize for the basic nature of these questions. I think I have myself thoroughly confused so I wanted to run some questions by the pros.

I currently have the trigger offset at -10deg, so this would technically be 10 deg ATDC during cranking if I understand things correctly.

My TFI Fox Mustang ...

Re: Base Tune for Fox Mustang

You could export the VE and spark tables and use them with B&G code, but if this car already has twin turbos, you probably will want to make a new tune from scratch anyway.

I figured that, but was hoping the WUE was transferable and similar enough since I was hoping the turbos wouldn't have too ...

Base Tune for Fox Mustang

I noticed the base tune on DIYAutoTune, but it says it's for the MS2/Extra. Will this work with MS2 as well? If not, anyone have a good tune for me to reference? I'm running the FMS 30 lb injectors.

Re: EGO reading steady 7.4 in MegaTune with LC1

Seems to be working now. I think two things lead me awry here:

- LC1 needed to recalibrate the heater coil, despite having been working before. No big deal, I just needed to recognize the blinking light error code and look up the code in the LC1 manual to figure that out.
- It appears that MegaTune ...

Re: EGO reading steady 7.4 in MegaTune with LC1

The MSQ doesn't have any obvious issues. Can it display the full EGO range on a Stimulator?

I'll hook up the stim tonight and see if I can grab the voltage range when it is showing the AFR on the gauge.

Works great with the stim with msq attached earlier, full range on the pot and getting ~4.9V ...

Re: EGO reading steady 7.4 in MegaTune with LC1

The MSQ doesn't have any obvious issues. Can it display the full EGO range on a Stimulator?

I remember it using quite a bit of the potentiometers' range early on, then it seemed like it was only using a small portion of one end of the potentiometer towards the end of the build. It did swing ...

EGO reading steady 7.4 in MegaTune with LC1

I am having trouble getting the EGO reading to show up in MegaTune; all I get is a constant 7.4 AFR on the gauge and the real time screen.

- I have confirmed ~4.897V on the wire going to the EGO input on the harness (free air)
- LC1 is working/reading correctly as indicated on the DB gauge (no ...

Re: Pigtail grounds vs Megamanual grounds

I'd use at least 5 ground wires from the MS to the block. You can give the sensors their own separate return grounds if you want, just don't try wiring a ground wire to both the sensors and the block at once.

Silly questions I'm sure, but would like to learn if I can: Why do 5 different ground ...

Re: Pigtail grounds vs Megamanual grounds

Pins 1, 2, and 7 through 19 are all tied to the same point on the board. Consequently, even official MS wiring diagrams do not always show the same ground pins used for the same functions.

Perfect. Thank you very much, that was very helpful. I am better at mechanicals than electronics, so I ...

Pigtail grounds vs Megamanual grounds

I have noticed a few posts on this topic while searching but didn't see a good explanation for why the pins are different numbers on the DIYAutoTune pigtail vs the megamanual. The answer I saw said to take one wire and run to the sensor grounds and ground the rest to the engine block. I'm fine with ...

Mustang TFI Dedicated Ground?

For a 91 5.0 Mustang with TFI w/ MSD 6A and MS2 V3, should I run the 'dedicated ground TFI' wire from the EECIV harness to the #2 pin on the MS2 wiring harness? Or is this not needed since the MSD is grounded?
